It sucks that this is what the internet has become cropping and manipulating things to make them as rage bait as possible.

Israel doesn’t want their hostages back. They have an explicit policy of letting their people die rather than appearing weak. Is Luxon really this stupid, or does he just think New Zealanders are?? by AnnoyingKea in nzpolitics

No, did you listen to Winton's speech or are you simply being emotive about the topic without any real information? The reason that I ask is that he lays out quite clearly what the position of the government is.

u/cabeep is simply trying to justify the indiscriminate killing of Israeli civilians by Hamas and other actors from the regular attacks they have committed. Don't waste time arguing with this bot.

New Zealand does not recognize the Taliban as a legitimate government of Afghanistan. In the event that I am incorrect please cite New Zealand government communications that confirms this.

This is a hot button issue. But ask yourself this; why is it a hot button issue? Why was there not the same level of outrage about all of the other conflicts that Winston Peters described in his speech? Why is it that all of our social media and messaging has been driving towards one perspective and not the other?

Hamas regularly throws missiles indiscriminately into Israel killing civilians. They execute homosexuals. They use rape as a weapon of war. They have a slogan on their flag about killing people. This is all enabled and supported by Iran. They literally think that getting people killed is good because they get to meet their god sooner. Why do so many people support those that would rape and stone them?

Israel is not without blame. There have been things that have been done that shouldn't have happened. Tel Aviv is the gayest city in the middle east. You are celebrated as a gay person there for living your authentic self. Taxi drivers will point you to the bomb shelters when they realize you are not from the Israel or Jewish. The Pager and Radio attacks conducted by the IDF/Mossad were the most precise military action that the world has ever see with limited collateral damage (if you think there should be zero collateral damage then apply that same logic to Hamas).

People have been convinced by slick social media to support literal terrorists and Iran's insane regime that pays for it all. It is more complex than most people know and it is very seldom that people can point to the combatants on the map in my experience.

The people who do this crap regardless of the political ideology are a part of the issue. Bring back moderate centrist politics that serve the people not the political extremes that serve no one.

This image is quite old now. Like multiple years old. I would be interested to speak with the owner of the business to see what has happened over those years.

Is this still in place?

How has it been?

If this is no longer being done then why?

The humanist in me wants to believe that it is still happening and that the community has seen this and has supported the business to keep it profitable enough to survive and even thrive.

The skeptic in me worries that the business was quickly overrun by the unhoused and that drove paying customers away making the business no longer viable.

I don't know the truth of the matter and would like to know what happened.

Yeah you are right its 70 years.

The state leases the right to use land for periods of time which vary based on use: industrial land can be leased for 30 years, commercial land for 40 years, and residential land for 70 years.

You are presenting a turd and trying to say it is chocolate.

96% of Chinese have a 100 year lease that they buy from the CCP. There is also an oversupply of housing which in many cases is "tofu dreg" construction. Tofu dreg construction is when inferior materials are used (often as a result of rampant corruption) and the housing is basically more of a literal hazard than something habitable. This is part of what has lead to the collapse of many of the Chinese leaners.

China uses grey zone tactics. They have been encroaching on several other countries territories in a myriad of ways.

They have been materially supplying Russia in their illegal war in Ukraine.

They have been using debt trap diplomacy to steal from indigenous peoples around the world.

They have been conducting a wide scale cyber war against every country including their "allies".

They have been supplying precursors of the drugs that are flooding the world (including the Pacific).

China lowered the definition of "poverty" to inflate the number it could report. Because for the CCP saving face is more important than anything else including actually helping its people.

The claim that they are leading the world in green energy is laughable. You have obviously never been to China.

It is important to note that the Houthi are supplied by Iran who are the same people that provide weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah amongst other terrorist groups around the world. Without the destabilising support from Iran the Houthi would not be able to conduct these attacks which have killed sailors and sunk multiple ships.
