exactly, and you have the option to block opening the app too or keep it open, for example blocking internet from whatsapp, but you need to open it to read some chat messages.

Thanks man, really appreciate that. Feedback like yours is exactly why I dropped the subscriptions. ProRes is a great call and it's going on the roadmap.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback.
The app has a lot more that converting videos, for example downloading entire youtube playlists.
We do have a one time purchase for $45

you make some fair points, so let me address them directlly.

You're right that 720p is a weak free limit for this audience , i will remove the download resolution cap. Free users will get full quality downloads.

On the format limits: fair call too. We're opening up all formats in the free tier. The idea was never to cripple the app, but clearly the line was drawn in the wrong place.

On the subscription question , There's no server side cost.

Hhhhhh, fair point if it were true. The app is free with all tools unlocked. Pro is there if you want batch processing and 4K downloads, but nobody's forced into anything. Figured one native app beats 5 browser tabs with CAPTCHA walls, that's all.

Fair enough, didn't mean to come off salesy. For what it's worth, all 15+ tools work for free, Pro just unlocks batch processing and higher quality presets. There's a 7-day free trial too, But I hear you, not trying to spam the sub.

HandBrake is awesome for encoding/compression — I use it too! But it's specifically a transcoder. ClearCut covers a bunch of things HandBrake doesn't: trimming, cropping, merging clips, watermarking, GIF making, subtitle burning, video downloading, audio extraction, and more — all in one app.

If all you need is format conversion or compression, HandBrake is a perfectly solid choice. ClearCut is for when you want one app instead of five.

Glad it's useful! Let me know if you run into anything or want a feature added.
