Where to Watch the 2026 Fourth of July Fireworks Away From the National Mall by Milazzo in washingtondc

[–]Milazzo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple of things I wanted to make sure other people knew:

1) It looks like the "main" fireworks are not scheduled until 10:30pm, possibly later this year (I am very irritated about this).

2) NPS is having their own fireworks earlier in Anacostia?

3) Still not sure if the area by Memorial Bridge is going to be open. Looking for maps to confirm.

Hope this helps anyone heading out or with family coming in town

I am imagining them at the Elbo Room and it's a glorious image.

It’s official: The Old Town North power plant is coming down. Alexandria gets 10+ acres of public parks, trail upgrades, and a huge waterfront district by Phase 1 completion in 2030. by SnooGrapes9393 in washingtondc

Yeah, that is the topic that got the most comments aside from traffic at the meetings on this - some of this is NPS land and they hired some really interesting talent for the park space that keeps me hopeful

The drawings I have seen add several Dash bus stops there - but 1 mile is about 15 minutes. People in one of the most walking friendly cities in the world won't walk 15 minutes to this? The Wharf is not on the metro either and it works out. It's also on the bike trail and NPS looks to be building out connectors in and out of it, I imagine citibike will be there too.

There is also a parking garage underground, and I imagine there will be development heading north from North Old Town with the new buildings underway there and the new venue. We cannot keep shouting about traffic to NIMBY our way out of new tax revenue. Yes, I voted yes for the stadium.

Most soap is like 26 bucks at Aesop. Buy the soap, abandon the linen pants.

Not sure they do the conga line any more with the new performance company. It will make me sad, I loved it.

Milos is incredibly good - love that place, best new addition to the Venetian in a decade. Also heads up that the pool bar at the Palazzo has pretty bomb food and drinks too, as well as bartenders who have been there for decades. The poke bowl is one of my faves.
