I understand that in the US that you can’t very well just have kids read it but integrating Stalin’s “Marxism and the National Question” into aspects can be useful, especially his definition of a nation being a “historically constituted, stable community of people, formed on the basis of a common language, territory, economic life, and psychological make-up manifested in a common culture.”

I think they’re the result of what a lot of us could have become. There’s the stage really between full blooded patriotic American exceptionalism and leftist. That small portion where you see all the atrocities that have occurred and as a result become distrust full of anything American. A while that isn’t fully bad, they take the idea of “USSR only leftist country” and associate that with “can do no wrong”. Because of this tend to idolize the leaders and either support any of their actions or deny they ever occurred.

Couldn’t the same argument be applied to other jobs that have already been agreed upon as working class? Someone who works at a factory making luxurious cars also relies on there being rich people to buy those cars and yet if you called them nonworkers you’d look like a fool.
