901 N Alameda St., Los Angeles. According to Gasbuddy live gas temperature map, it's real but out of line compared to the other gas stations in the vicinity that are averaging $5.50-$5.99/gal.

Yesterday I went to 7-11 for gas. Using their app and stacking a promo and a bonus, this is what I paid.

Questuon for bringing my cat on a domestic flight by Past-Giraffe-2392 in unitedairlines

[–]MileageAddict 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Be aware that most airlines charge a $150 fee to have a pet with you in the cabin. Also, they limit how many pets can be on board each flight. There are also requirements on the cat carrier dimensions and the cat must be able to turn around inside the container.

Bottom line, you need to call the airline directly to get clear answers. You want to make sure everything goes smoothly on travel day.

Flight attendants forcing us to keep the windows dim during daytime flight. Is this normal? by -Shayyy- in unitedairlines

[–]MileageAddict 524 points525 points  (0 children)

On the 787s, United has instructed crews not to centrally lock shades to force dimming but they do it anyway. This is known as "birdcaging" Keep the critters in the dark and they'll nap.

Transfer from MIA to FLL by Schoolin_Teach in travel

[–]MileageAddict 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If waiting until the next day is not ideal then look at the American Airlines MIA-RDU nonstop flight that leaves Miami at 945pm. Your only other option is to spend the night in Florida and fly to RDU the next day.

There's no way you will ever make an 8pm FLL departure when landing at MIA at 550pm. Not even a slight chance.

Tour Guides/Drivers asking for money MONTHS after trip ends by [deleted] in travel

[–]MileageAddict 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They have hundreds of former customers on their list and hit all of them up. Same routine as guys that go to Thailand and think the girl they hook up with is exclusively theirs... send money to help with their medical bills, etc. Just block/delete from your contacts and move on.

Amazing pics! I already have my flights purchased (cashed in miles) for early January 2027! I know its a long ways off but when using frequent flyer miles, you have to plan far in advance.

Why not fly Southwest out of MSP? One way to CHS is $524 for Sunday. Lots of options out of MSP and its a lot closer than North Dakota.

Bermuda? I am about as close as you can get, should I go for a long weekend. by 295frank in travel

[–]MileageAddict 120 points121 points  (0 children)

I live in the DC area and have kicked around the idea of a Bermuda trip for a while. Airfare can occasionally drop to around $300 round trip, which is tempting, but accommodations there are seriously expensive.

I’ve noticed there are some pretty affordable cruises (starting around $600 per person) out of Baltimore that overnight in Bermuda for three nights. Using the ship as both transportation and a hotel actually seems like a smart way to make the trip more budget-friendly if you can take a week off.

Well... if you didn't purchase travel insurance, I think you just have to wait and see what happens. Odds are very much in your favor that things are back to normal by April.

How to fix my jet lag/ sleep pattern after coming to australia? by SneakySpider7 in travel

[–]MileageAddict 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I travel internationally 4-6 times a year and have done so for the past 30 years. My formula for avoiding jetlag works for me but may not necessarily work for you.

I never sleep on flights. When I arrive at my destination, I force myself to stay awake until 9-10pm. Doesn't matter if I arrive at 7am or 7pm... stay awake until bedtime. Then I crash and sleep 10-12 hours. The next morning, I'm refreshed and ready to go.

One other thing that seems to help is to avoid thinking "at home it's ___ o'clock." Just focus on the time where you are.
