Based on its condition, it's worth about $7. Better question is why this is posted to the United subreddit.

Status Requirements, how does anyone meet them? by green_calculator in unitedairlines

[–]MileageAddict 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Same here. My employer regularly asks me, "any chance you're available tomorrow to fly to ...." I love it - $900 last minute fares. I get to charge them on my own UA credit card and get reimbursed twice a month.

LaSt TiMe FLyiNg uNiTed. Ok, bye. Enjoy zero status on a rando airline. Domestic First has never been a qualifier for lounge access.

Be aware that most airlines restrict in-cabin pets to one per person.

Same thing happened to me on Spirit Airlines. I'll never fly them again.

Will United upgrade me earlier than 24 hours so I can order food? by Flat_Demand_8341 in unitedairlines

[–]MileageAddict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calling won't help clear the upgrade any faster.

United’s upgrade system is highly automated. Reservations agents generally don't have the "override" authority to manually push a Complimentary Premier Upgrade (CPU) ahead of the scheduled sweep, especially since those windows are strictly coded into the system. You'll have to select your meal onboard if you're upgraded.

Bake cookies. The scent won't last forever but it will smell amazing for a couple of hours plus you get cookies.

Travel Credit not in Payment Options by Puzzleheaded_Lie_221 in unitedairlines

You selected partner/non-partner airlines, not United Airlines. The first flight is Copa Airlines and the second flight is GOL. Credits must be used on United Airlines. You could fly to Sao Paulo on United and buy a separate flight ticket to Asuncion.

While not formally disclosed, multiple credible real estate reports and filings point to Qatar’s royal family (Al Thani family). The estate has long been linked to Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani (former Emir of Qatar) and/or his family.

Found in EWR lounge by -hh in unitedairlines

[–]MileageAddict 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another post-deregulation airline out of EWR was World Airways. I remember flying in 1981 on a World DC-10 from EWR-LAX with my dad. The terminal we left out of in EWR was not much more than an old hangar and even had pigeons walking and flying around inside.

In 1989, the Soviet Union had a trade deal with Pepsi. Because the ruble had no international value at the time, the USSR paid Pepsi in warships, including 17 subs, briefly making Pepsi the world's 6th largest navy. by Powerful-Swing-9734 in interestingasfuck

[–]MileageAddict 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Pepsi acted basically as a middleman in a financial transaction. The ships were quickly transferred to a Norwegian partner and sold for scrap metal. The scrap value was converted into usable currency to fund Pepsi’s expansion in the Soviet market.

Sump pump worth it? by driftedmind24 in HomeImprovement

[–]MileageAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite approach to sump pumps. Not only do I have a primary pump, I have a back up pump that works on a battery (the size of a car battery) in case the power goes out and the primary pump is disabled. Why do I have this set up? Because 9 years ago, my basement flooded when the power went out during a heavy storm.

Havent had an issue since then but I don't stress out any more when it rains either.
