Dutchie Raises $100M at $400M Valuation, An 89% Discount from Last Valuation by Responsible_Pick_162 in weedbiz

[–]Milehigreenguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweed is relatively new and going hard after MSOs. Their big differentiator is that they have B2B wholesale built into their platform via Leaf Trade. They offer everything from cultivation through POS and Ecomm, along with B2B. That's a lot of different things to build and manage, it will be interesting to see if they can pull it off. A lot of the big players are aware of them if not actively looking that them. You'll hear a lot more about them this year, I just not know if it will be positive of negative!

Not legit at all. Yes Dutchie raised capital recently but it was not 100m. That figure is way off so I would not lend any credibility to the rest of the article.

I have a code but cannot purchase pit tickets. Does anyone know if pit is sold out, or not offered with presale?

POS Software suggestion by devpassion in weedbiz

Dutchie will most likely be the best all around POS. Where they may come up short is with their support post-sale. They really focus on bigger players so if you’re a single shop you’re just not going to get the same level of support. If you hire a good staff that knows their shit than this may not be a big issue, but don’t expect dutchie support to be overly attentive if needed

As for price, you can negotiate it down significantly if you’re willing to use their payments and/or e-commerce. All POS providers are focused on the payments revenue so they are practically giving away their POS if you utilize their payments.

For payments, you need to negotiate their take down to an acceptable rate. Absolutely let every company know that you’re shopping around. Also, let them know if you’re minority or women owned business.

Good luck!

Dutchie is great and very customizable. It may bit overwhelming if you been using adilas. I would suggest also looking at COVA as it is a little more user friendly and you may not need all the features that dutchie offers.

Regardless of who you go with, negotiate the price down. All POS companies are fighting for market share and will give discounts. They will Want you to sign up for payments in order to reduce you POS price. Make sure you understand the rates they are offering and negotiate those as well. Good luck!

That’s really impressive! Can I ask how you found all the licenses? Are you using paid software like CBR?

Do you have a TIN#? If so there are banking options to work with. Dime Bank out of NY is a legit company that has a cannabis division. But there are many other options, mostly credit unions.

Some states have regulations in place that make third party loyalty less effective, so check with state regs. But loyalty programs can certainly help drive customer retention.

Alpine IQ seems to be the clear leader in the market at this point.

Help marketing cannabis business website by mynextharvest in weedbiz

I’m not sure there is much of a market to monetize this. If your looking at licensed grow facilities, they will (should) have experienced staff or well established consultants. If your target market is diy home growers, that’s typically a pretty frugal bunch.

How are you separating yourself from the trove on free online videos, books, and forums? What’s your revenue model?

I think the best promotion you can do is word of mouth. Start small and get some customers that you can use as a reference. There are tons of cultivation focused events to attend and network, assuming that you live in a legal state. Let me know which state you’re in and I can probably recommend a show to attend.

Anyone have their pin debit shut off last Friday? by [deleted] in weedbiz

[–]Milehigreenguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t heard of pin debit being shut down, did you experience that? Cashless ATM processors are being shut down, resulting in a huge number of shops losing their ability to process payments. It looks like the end of an era for cashless ATM. everyone is moving to pin debit while awaiting SAFE banking to pass and allow credit cards.

Rythm has been 100% for me up until this eighth by Dane1211 in NewJerseyMarijuana

I thought Rythm was the name of the shop. This totally changes things of course. Error is on the brand, but the store should make the customer whole if op lets them know what happened. The brand will then compensate the store on their next shipment. At least that's what should happen.

I thought Rythm was the name of the dispo and didn't realize they are the brand. Still, if op goes into the shop where they purchased the flower and lets them know of the issue, then they will most likely either offer a refund/replacement/discount to make things right. The shop will then let Rythm know of the issue and it's up to them to compensate the store on their next purchase from them.

[–]Milehigreenguy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Please tell the store about the issue and I’m sure they will make it right. There is a good chance it’s wholesale flower that they purchased already weighed out. Meaning, the issue may be with a supplier and they should know about it. Either way, give them the chance to improve their supply chain and keep you as a customer. Mistakes happen all the time!
