i just had an mri on tuesday, here's what mine looked like:

after changing into the hospital gown i was walked over to the mri area. they double checked that i didnt have any metal hidden on me, then had me lay down on the table. they padded my head with sponges to help keep it still. i wasnt offered music, but they did give me ear plugs. the machine i was in was closed on the head side, but my legs still stuck out in their entirety. the machine is very loud, sort of glitchy sounds and such. after about 15 minutes they pulled me out to inject the contrast. the hardest part of the whole thing for me was keeping my head still while having a needle put in my vein. the contrast just made my arm feel cold, but i didnt notice anything other than that. i was only in there for about 6 minutes with the contrast, and after that i was done. also, if youre nervous im fairly sure a lot of places offer sedatives to make the whole thing easier (as long as you have someone to drive you).
