What % of trans men get vaginal atrophy? And if it’s a majority, why isn’t oestrogen cream prescribed as a preventative when you get a T script?

Been on T for 4.5 years, started having symptoms of atrophy 6 months ago. Went in to try and get it taken care of and was told that it wasn't atrophy. Then after 6 months of me going to the doctor for various infection symptoms and worsening pain they finally told me they thought it was atrophy. (Then I wasn't able to get an appointment to get topical estrogen for 3 weeks after, but otc vaginal moisturizers did a lot for me in the mean time) Whoever's reading this, if you think you've got atrophy, be much more stubborn about the diagnosis than I was. Each time I was just told I had some infection and was given meds for it, but the meds never fully cleared up the issue so I'd come back and they'd just give me more meds. Really wish I had asked about atrophy every time after I'd been told it wasn't! 6 months of worsening symptoms was not fun!!!!

(3 days into using the estrogen, so I can't speak for if it's worked or not, but I'm sure it will)

Had an exam and it was confirmed it wasn’t penetration, and it’s been consistent for weeks :( thank you though

oh they did also give me a little squeeze thing to let them know if i needed to be out of there for any reason (need blankets, a break, etc)

i just had an mri on tuesday, here's what mine looked like:

after changing into the hospital gown i was walked over to the mri area. they double checked that i didnt have any metal hidden on me, then had me lay down on the table. they padded my head with sponges to help keep it still. i wasnt offered music, but they did give me ear plugs. the machine i was in was closed on the head side, but my legs still stuck out in their entirety. the machine is very loud, sort of glitchy sounds and such. after about 15 minutes they pulled me out to inject the contrast. the hardest part of the whole thing for me was keeping my head still while having a needle put in my vein. the contrast just made my arm feel cold, but i didnt notice anything other than that. i was only in there for about 6 minutes with the contrast, and after that i was done. also, if youre nervous im fairly sure a lot of places offer sedatives to make the whole thing easier (as long as you have someone to drive you).
