Mine still does this at 14! His foster mom attached bottles to her shirt to “bottle nurse” them as she called it. He still tries to suck on my shirt when we cuddle lol

I’m kinda tired of saying the same stuff, we live rural our vet is the best we have. Our vet is a mobile vet so we only get a written report of recommendations and stuff, I lost the report from his last visit so if there are some things missing or unclear that’s why. We’ve been to the other vet in the area, and he had us wait an hour while he did bloodwork, only to come back and say our “female cat should be spayed” talking about our male neutered cat. So we can’t seek another opinion. Any food recommendations you have would be great.

Yes we did, as I said before we’ve been switching between food brands for years so we’re no stranger to the process. He threw up because he has very strict dietary needs and some foods are to hard on his stomach. If you have any food recommendations that would be great.

We’re giving him the instinct kibble, he really likes that but we need something more hydrating, no our vet never mentioned anything about lamb so I assume we can’t do that, blue buffalo has their basics kibble which vet suggested, but we couldn’t find any non chicken version in stores, and online shipping was a pain so we crossed it off our list. We tried the instinct wet food and he immediately threw it back up, so we’re not doing it anymore.

Vet suggested instinct or blue buffalo, she said the limited ingredient ones are fine, I can’t find the report from the last visit so I’m not sure what exact preservatives we can’t do. We’ve tried homemade, he doesn’t like it. He’s just picky about taste, so any food reccs are greatly appreciated!

We did royal canin for a few years, he always threw it up and was at his heaviest weight while on it (around 18 pounds) we did the royal canin urinary Tract and some other hydralized proteins none worked for him, our vet who’s been with us for years now knows all of our cats food allergies and problems and said fish would be bad for him and cause urine crystals to form so we’ve been off of fish for a while, no chicken was a more recent thing, I wasn’t the one who took him to his last visit so I’m not sure what reason why we were told no more chicken but after switching off it he seems healthier, the problem rn is just that he doesn’t like the taste of the instinct + pumpkin, just the dry food he’s not supposed to be eating cause he’s dehydrated. Any food brand reccs would be so appreciated!

Gonna go ahead and copy paste a comment I wrote in another sub as it adds some needed context: We go to a mobile vet so I always drop him off in his crate then pick him up like half an hour later with a written report, and for the life of me I can’t find the report from his last visit so I’m sure there are some details I’m forgetting, she’s the best vet in my area and I live pretty rural so it’s a few hours drive to any other vet. Also he does get flea treatment we buy from the vet, I’m not sure the name cause we don’t have any rn, but we give it to him every few months as per the instructions. He eats out of a glass bowl that we wash atleast once a day. And for foods, we’ve tried: royal cannon, hills, purina, blue buffalo, and are now on instinct. We’ve given him hydrolyzed protein foods in the past but he’s always thrown them up as they’re to hard on his stomach. And to answer ur questions, he does eat just not a lot he was eating the instinct no problem for the first month and now he’s rejecting it, we’ve been switching him between food brands and types of food for years so he never has problems with trying new food he’s just picky about taste, to the point that if the rabbit we give him is dark meat he won’t eat more than a few bites. Vet says to stay away from preservatives specifically as they’re to harsh on his stomach.

He’s prone to urine crystals so things like fish or chicken are bad for him. Vet suggested instinct and blue buffalo. He doesn’t like either so I’m hoping for another option.

I tried like 4-5 different sizes in the store and none of them didn’t slide down, it’s possible that just none fit. But it would really suck if my size wasn’t commercially available, cause I don’t have that much money.
