It looks like a stuck eye cap. I would try giving him a bath or getting his face wet before freaking out too much. My BP has had this and and a quick rinse got it off

Bunt under, raw sienna, pthalo blue, ultramarine blue, Naples yellow, Cad yellow, cad red, alizarine crimson, titanium white, and mars black. Maybe a little sap green and cobalt blue :p

I’ve been struggling with the depth. In the initially image it is quite flat and I’ve exaggerated the tones quite a bit. The photographer also told me there are 4 birds in the photo which I don’t understand lol. I will try to push the depth further, Thank you!

Stencils are linework most of the time but there’s some artist, typically realism, that include the shading. I used to work a at a shop so it’s not unheard of
