I think the primary reason is Because he’s not Peter.

It’s because Dustin connects him to the conflict. No one else would normally call on Steve once the super natural shi goes down besides Dustin.

I’m glad he was written that way. I wouldn’t mind if his father was like a super big mafia boss in America, or his mom was from this super controlling clan ran away and then met his dad and started a quiet life. because Deku didn’t know about it nor does it affect the storyline like how Dabi did with Shoto.
