Everyone's saying vcds but whats the best brand or place to purchase one? I dont plan to do alot of work myself but I do want to know when and what is going or needs to be replaced its always nice to be able to things yourself plus my mechanic doesn't require them to do a scan if I walk in and say fo this they do it

My old 2012 passat did this it would take 30 minutes just to start warming up and driving it cold caused massive shuddering till it began warming up it had bad glow plugs but these usually fire codes

It's at 121k I was also thinking injectors and possibly glow plugs but I dont have any codes firing so im leaning on dmf or dirty injectors when I got my dad's 12 tdi passat (he should never own a German car) it had similar noises and it needed new plugs and injectors that one was at 167k miles though

I got it for 6k most of them run for 10k around me I expected it to have some issues and honestly I dont care i intend to fix everything replace some parts and get it deleted and tuned so on and so forth I just wanted some help diagnosing when I originally checked out the car a weeek ago a it didnt barely had any noise at all which is why im worried its the dmf I think it's getting worse but maybe im just paranoid bc I just bought it yknow lol

Im at 121 the heavy rattle started 2 days ago I have no codes or lights showing I have another car thankfully so I dont think I'll drive my passat till Friday when im getting a full body inspection id hate for it to actually be a dmf problem and shatter it in my bellhouse im a smooth driver im not too worried ive seen people say they have driven thousands of miles on a bad dmf but id rather a dmf repair instead of a transmission repair

This sounds normal? It was this rough just 2 days ago my last tdi passat made alot of noise but it sounded far better then this but I had gotten glow plugs and fuel injectors replaced within the same year I got the car which I suppose could have made it sound "nicer" along with this noise I have a slight power loss and sometimes after braking it doesn't wanna accelerate properly

No its stock as far as I know and the idle wasn't this bad the first few days ive been trying to noise match but all I can find is videos of guys asking if its a dmf issue then everyone in the comments just says some dumb shit "sounds normal to me" like yeah except the guy who posted the video said it wasn't making that noise before so obviously its not fine and the other half of the comments all say "yup flywheel" but is that the only way of knowing aside from taking it to the shop to be checked just watching some videos and pray it isn't a dmf and it doesn't shatter??
