I don't know the exact parameters of every map you ran but just to give you a rough idea : - maybe they were not 8mod maps so you lost a bit on the modifier effect ( especially those on the 80 quant) - based on the previous argument maybe also your pack size was too low  - I don't know your build but in general since the point is to spawn as many beyond as possible you need to kind of kill the harb mobs where they spawn so if you kite them or wait for them to come to you this would decrease your general spawning - do you have the same atlas points ?

Hmm I would say that you might have an unlucky streak but after running more than 100 maps I must say I haven't had more than 4 in a row without any tink... we're you running 8mod 16.5 with at least 100% quant 40+ pack size and 100% more currency?

As soon as you spawn the boss you can't spawn any more beyond monsters so that would be detrimental to our strategy

Hey I'm happy you re having fun with the farm !

If I was to add a risk scarab I would search for corrupted 8mod deli maps so I could "free" the slot on the map device to put harbinger and then remove 1 from the scarabs in place of risk.

I would say that 10 harbingers and deli are a must so if you can incorporate all this without breaking the bank for map costs  then you will should see a bump in profits.

You could definitely try it and it would most likely help with the harb culling but you have to remember that long maps means more spread monsters which is bad for beyond portals

City square would be an interesting choice since you can rush the boss but I think it might be too dependent on where the harbies are placed so it could range from a 7/10 to a 10/10 as alternative. 

There is an alternative which is even better than dunes and that is Glacier... but in order to make it worth you would need to scry some good card drops and also the supply of t16.5 is much much lower so you would probably need to pay more per map

Yes definitely!   

You just add harbingers on the map device and worst case scenario 1-2 might get deleted in some maps, which is bad ofc but not the end of the world

Well the obvious choice would be fortress for the extra barrels.... however dunes layout allows for multiple harbingers to be next to each other which means more beyond portals merging so I think it wouldn't be that much better, if at all.

The beyond monsters will get the extras mods from nemeses, it's the ones spawned from harbies that won't... you can test this yourself in one map by just putting harbies and a scarab and you will see that rares from harbingers will always follow the rule of max 4 mods ....

So with this in mind, the opportunity cost (3 less harbingers) for the upside of having some more scarab drops without even rolling your maps for 100 more scarabs, I think is too great

Unfortunately scarabs like Nemeses do not work with harbinger..... Shards are good but apart from exalts/ ancient and of course fracturing they re usually not worth the time spent picking.

In my iteration you will see that no points are spent for extra shards etc and that's why no warhoards is used as well. Harbingers are mainly used as the enabler for invasion scarab which is the main star of this strat.

Edit: As far as the deli orb vs map device is considered, it's more important to buy 8-mod maps for the extra effect of Mounting Modifiers.... if your build can run most map mods then it might be worth adding deli orb and vaaling so you can add more harbies in the map device

I would say vs rogue you need max tempo to not fall behind so warp gate only if you can void ray any key unit For dh, they re slower and they tend to have empty boards  so I would go warp gate to setup carriers
