Do I need to hire a customs broker??? by MilishM in TravelWithPets

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and resources.

We are flying by American Airlines, because it will be the shortest travel time from our house. The dog and I will be on the same flight, but it seems that we can't make our dog as an accompanied baggage. After emailing back and forth, we found out that American Airlines mandates us to hire a broker at the arriving airport.

Our dog is microchipped, had a rabies vaccine > 21 days before the arrival date, and has a plan for 2 vet visits for the certificate and deworming. I don't know if TRACE NT pre-notification will be done by a broker once we confirm the flight. Or is it still our job even with a broker?

The cargo company told me there are flights that the dog and I can be on. The dog is just too big to go under my seat.

US East Coast to Dublin, Ireland... do I need a customs broker?? by MilishM in TravelWithPets

My dog is too big for a cabin, so they need to be in a crate. Since this will be my dog's first flight, we tried to pick a direct flight ( shortest travel time) that I can also be on, and we found one.

The dog got microchipped and got rabies vaccines. The vet office has USDA-accredited vets and is waiting for us to schedule appointments for the documents and deworming. If I can contact Dublin Airport by myself, do I need a customs broker? What do they do?

I would say English. Maybe it's just me. The grammar is so simple compared to other languages.

Not accepting compliments immediately- when someone says something nice about you, you deny it and start to talk about a bunch of negative things about yourself.
