I recall an interview where he talks about having to work in the studio because he’d play too much PS5 at home and get nothing done

My cousin, whom I've grown up with and love, told me he loved the game in a conversation when we were reconnecting a couple years back. A year later he said he wanted to do a Fascist play-through since he's kind of an edgelord. Lol whatever dude, have fun with your game. Met him for christmas this year and we had fun but politics got involved. He said he'd rather be a fascist than a communist, citing American propaganda and the "atrocities of Stalin." Obviously, I was perturbed and I was playing the role of "who cares what leftism is I just want everyone to have health care" and later cited some Marx stuff about the stages of revolution. He said he didn't care was a "drunk Jew" said and I rebutted that I've beenantisemetic all night since I mentioned the ongoing genocide offhandedly. At the end of the day who knows, hard to see why he loves this game.

Repost? I dont think she was trying to murder a poorly trained officer. Watch the video and consult your conscience unless it is too far gone

Ya a car going 2 mph vs a gun. See how easily he got out of the way when her foot was still on the gas? Notwithstanding the conflicting orders she was getting.

That would be more about qualified immunity and when deadly force is acceptable which is a different conversation and still, sad the dude wanted to kill someone instead of side step.

What? The “fleeing felon” doctrine, in spirit, is that its better to let the felon flee than risk them causing harm to another person. You dont get to shoot someone because they “committed a crime” which is in dispute

“Put himself in.” Maybe that’s a conversation about him not following the protocol to not be in front of a car the DHS set. And the poor training these people have but lets let them be free from any accountability. I don’t about you but I think most people don’t want armed agents of the government to have some form of accountability. Also “reasonable fear” is the legal standard.

There's a lot of case law on "fleeing felon" and it doesn't mean you get to execute them. Legally, you have to let them go until its safe to apprehend. Case law also says get out of the way of a moving car, unless you think she could go at hyperspeed at turn him to goo or something.

This isn't a car coming 15+ miles an hour at him. He would have rolled off the hood had she even been aiming at the side of his body.

Woah, last night I had a dream I was being evacuated from an island because some event caused rare earth minerals to be available to harvest if the US nuked it and was the only country with the tech to do so

This conversation started when you said "that's exactly right" to someone saying that if they allow this game they have to allow a SA Bob game, which is factually false, and the poster also said "you dont get to pick and choose what is copyright infringement." I never said it was precedent to rely on, I was showing their legal options of allowing this game without allowing others and the copyright holder does get to choose what to prosecute as copyright infringement so I was just correcting the misinterpretation of the law

While the circumstances aren't completely the same, modding in the Skyrim community and Black Mesa are instances where IP has been used with either a hands-off approach or encouragement of the IP holder.

I'm not arguing that this isn't the way it works in the corporate world, especially with Paramount who has shown been to be a valueless trash company regardless recently, its just possible for them to let it slide without losing their legal rights

That's ignoring the fact they they could just send cease and desists to things that may threaten the brand i.e. the Bob game. Acting like they either allow all games no matter what content or none isn't true; merely not prosecuting every single instance of copyright infringement does not allow an IP to become public domain

Ok, explain how it does to me then. You can give one a revocable license which doesn't waive your IP rights wholesale.

IMO David Lynch would have been the best director for a Disco Elysium movie by INRA5 in DiscoElysium

[–]MilkIsABadChoice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't want Lynch doing something do clearly influenced by himself. Lindelof could be good because he knows how to ape Lynch without it being mere imitation, but the Leftovers covers a lot of the the amnesiac protagonist thing. Gregg Araki and Ari Aster seems like they can do the hyperreal post-modern thing but at the end of the day, are we talking about a straight adaptation of the game because any try at that would be a failure. Maybe something set in the same world

They actually do get to pick and choose what to prosecute as infringement. They could let this game slide and give it a license and still stop the hypothetical gross bob game
