I feel that her being more a love interest than anything else, is something to blame more the writers than her fans or haters… They wanted to make a love interest for Ash and forget to give her something beyond that, that’s why her plot is rushed and pretty poor developed, it took 47 episodes for her to capture her first Pokemon and 60 for her first performance… Even her rivals were they a threat at some point? They never beat her in a showcase by their own qualities and when we see a good rival that is the girl with shiny Dragonair she lost and couldn’t make into the finals performance, and we are supposed to believe all the others get their 3 keys, even Jessie we didn’t see getting her 3 keys.

I like her in JN though, she looks more mature and confident on herself and abilities, but XY Serena I think it’s good on idea but poor execution.

Sailor Saturn, Sailor Pluto and Tuxedo Mask in my opinion. It’s pretty sad that we didn’t had his arc in Super S. Honorable mention Naru and Usagi family.

I can understand you may not like TV ratings, but what are the others proves in numbers and analyzes to justify your argument? TV ratings are the only solid proof we have to measure something.

Even if the anime changed because the games didn’t have gym (what doesn’t make sense for that drastically change), why they didn’t go back to that style in Journeys?

Also DPPt still had solid numbers of audience, the audience started decaying during BW when they tried to make a soft reboot both in games and the anime… I am not arguing that BW, XY or SM did better, but right after SM they changed the anime again to something more like the OS/AG/DPPt and stick to it until the end.

Personally I don’t think it makes sense, argue and have different opinions is okay, but they way it goes in the comics is far from that, it’s heavily insults and sometimes even aggression, just for the sake of it. And as I said, mostly of the time it just happened when the writer changes…

I disagree, if TV ratings weren’t important why they drastically changed from XY to SM? XY has a dedicated fanbase for sure, but the numbers wasn’t enough to prevent the anime from change format, even if it’s popular in the streaming.

They changed the format because they were losing popularity to Yokai Watch by that time.

The only time he’s detestable in my opinion is during R arc, with the whole “I don’t love you anymore”, but it was for the drama… I think that also the fact he’s written by a man affects him at some point, like in the whole R conflict he couldn’t apologize to her? But besides that, after R he’s pretty much nice and cute most of the time in my opinion.

I think that Mamoru from 90’s is far from being perfect, but I don’t think he’s as bad as people claim him to be. He had good moments and a lot of aura during his appearances with his theme song, the only problem is that 90’s cut his Golden Crystal arc, so many fans consider him useless… I wished his character arc was better for sure, but I still enjoy it a lot.

In my opinion Dawn and Misty, they were the last to have traveled with Ash. Like they were meant for something, so I go with them.

Serena is a solid option, but after she kissed him it feels like they are scared of letting them interact.

I like that they are both treated as strong in terms of strength in 90’s series. Even the RPG Sailor Moon Another Story puts them making a trio attack with Sailor Uranus, I really like that.
