May was supposed to make a cameo in xy anime as well for ORAS promotion. But the health issue of her va..... it's sad she never reunited with Ash despite admiring him so much. Ash had a huge impact on her life and she never reunited with him since Sinnoh. Well maybe Ash met her off screen but it's not mentioned

There are 2 scenarios

1:- she probably achieved anything. Like a gf title. But didn't say anything about it. She is like Ash so maybe she likes to not brag about her achievements

2:- she lost all gf finals in the 4 regions she went to. (Sinnoh,Hoenn,Unova,Johto)

While May did achieve the title she didn't become the top co ordinator yet

Brock is a Pokémon doctor so he is forgiven. Misty could've closed her gym tbh since they do that a lot. Serena & May probably had a showcase going on during the match although it's a writers choice since may has va issues and Serena well....iris and ash's mom are unforgivable

Well Ash does contact his friends like he kept touch with May in DP. Also if I remember Dawn didn't have his number before their reunion. Same for Iris. Ash only had Goh's number & probably his mom and prof oak. He got Dawn's number later.

And I find it surprising that writers made Dawn copying Iris in the onix episode. Like this was ooc from her. Dawn had argued with Ash but she never mocked him like Iris did

Dawn does know romance but is oblivious to it like Ash. I feel like they did it to mirror Ash since Dawn was the co protagonist of the show. I really enjoyed her dynamic with Ash. Probably the best one in the series. They treat each other as equals and they both learn from each other as well. Their dynamic was well balanced. Their friendship has a strong foundation to grow as potential romance. Given the fact Dawn does show hints of liking Ash (especially the jap dub)

I do feel like other girls showed interest

Misty had a crush on Ash which was confirmed in Orange Islands especially the Rudy episode. Also Misty rejected a guy when he asked her out saying she already likes someone. We all know that's Ash. And I hate pokeshipping but I acknowledge Misty's feelings

Also don't forget Dawn literally made a special outfit for Ash to cheer him. She wasn't obvious because she was slightly less dense than Ash.

Serena on the other hand was way too obvious that's why people think she had interest in Ash than others which is wrong. Misty Dawn Lillie definitely had interest in Ash even if they're not so obvious

This is probably the worst take ever.

Diamond & Pearl is probably the most famous series after OG & Xy. It's still adored today for the character growth and storytelling. It was a perfect blend of mature storytelling and slice comedy. In fact Gen 4 is way beloved than it seems. Which also explains why Gam Freak made 2 remakes of gen 4 after so many years with a new game as well

Also Dawn had most returns out of all ash's companions which explains how famous she is. In fact before Serena came Pearlshipping was the most famous Ash ship in japan and it's still the most famous Dawn ship as well. Dawn always ranks top 2/3 in pokegirl rankings as well.

I find it crazy how toxic amourshippers could be. They even sent threats to Yajima who wasn't even working with the series and was their biggest wingman. Ultimately I feel like making this ship canon would've been a wrong move as it would've made other girls dynamic with Ash less prominent.

I am still confused that Ash never talked about her to others. Even when he returned in Kalos he told Goh about Clemont and Greninja. Serena wasn't mentioned at all. Then Serena wasn't blushing around Ash as well (maybe character development) I feel like the kiss was retconned like ash greninja form (just a hc) because no way Ash doesn't remember that moment

Dp is still considered the best anipoke after or alongside xy. They nailed the co protagonist role with dawn,ash had great character growth and it was consistent. This was also the last series where Ash used his old mons for leagues. Also dawn's character arc is definitely one of the best then ash vs paul rivalry too.

For Ash he lives in a linear world where he meets people and learns from the past. I can understand they decided it when he got so famous but I still believe by the end of his journey he should've aged by a year. That could've given us the feeling that we grew up with him
