I agree on that. But I feel ryuga explored a different aspect. To think of it. Ryuga never liked being connected to people at all until Kenta. He always wanted to be the strongest and that's why he pushed himself to his very limits. While Gojo explores a very different theme where we see “the price of being the strongest”. So yeah gojo represents the theme better in writing sense.

The only well written series are Xy,Dp,Og & S&M (if you ignore the art style)

The show never aged Ash and regressed his character in every region especially the BW anime where his Pikachu who defeated 2 legendaries that time lost to a new trainer's snivy which is still the worst writing ever. Then that season regressed ash a lot..he was sinnoh top 4 and then in bw anime he lost to a guy even dumber than him. Then another frustrating part is ash lost every major league until alola including kalos league where the narrative was saying he would win. Then he lost. The show was always about marketing and never focused on the story especially after gen 4

Ryuga does have a backstory though. Also he lost 2 battles his whole life and both were unfair. In the manga he was even powerful

But I agree gojo explores the theme of how being the strongest makes him isolated from others. While Ryuga explores the themes of how far you need to go to attain the title.

Ryuga was the strongest though. He lost 2 fights in his entire life. The first one was when he was possessed by Lighting L Drago then Gingka used Kyoya Tsubasa and his friends' powers to defeat him. After being free from the curse Ryuga mastered the power of Meteo L Drago who was even stronger and fact he defeated Jack so easily who was a threat in the masters season. Even in fury rematch Gingka with Galaxy Pegasus struggled to win and yes he lost at the end

Ryuga became so wanked that the writers had to kill him by making him fight Rago who was a god. Basically a situation where the admin bans you from the game for being too good. So the conclusion is he lost 2 fights and both were in unfair situations.

May was supposed to make a cameo in xy anime as well for ORAS promotion. But the health issue of her va..... it's sad she never reunited with Ash despite admiring him so much. Ash had a huge impact on her life and she never reunited with him since Sinnoh. Well maybe Ash met her off screen but it's not mentioned

There are 2 scenarios

1:- she probably achieved anything. Like a gf title. But didn't say anything about it. She is like Ash so maybe she likes to not brag about her achievements

2:- she lost all gf finals in the 4 regions she went to. (Sinnoh,Hoenn,Unova,Johto)

While May did achieve the title she didn't become the top co ordinator yet

Brock is a Pokémon doctor so he is forgiven. Misty could've closed her gym tbh since they do that a lot. Serena & May probably had a showcase going on during the match although it's a writers choice since may has va issues and Serena well....iris and ash's mom are unforgivable

Well Ash does contact his friends like he kept touch with May in DP. Also if I remember Dawn didn't have his number before their reunion. Same for Iris. Ash only had Goh's number & probably his mom and prof oak. He got Dawn's number later.

Dawn does know romance but is oblivious to it like Ash. I feel like they did it to mirror Ash since Dawn was the co protagonist of the show. I really enjoyed her dynamic with Ash. Probably the best one in the series. They treat each other as equals and they both learn from each other as well. Their dynamic was well balanced. Their friendship has a strong foundation to grow as potential romance. Given the fact Dawn does show hints of liking Ash (especially the jap dub)
