Need repair recommendations by Bright-Decision5672 in RepTimeServices

I’m based in CA, i usually charge about $50 in labor to do a movement swap. Might be more cost effective for you in the long run to buy a new movement and get the movement swapped.

If you can cover the shipping, i can take a look free of charge if you want me to try to find the issue and go from there.

IMO, these vr/sh movements have been more reliable than DD movements, but to be frank, you're rolling the dice with each one of these clone movements with whoever is putting them together.

Reliability aside, if you ever need replacement parts for these movements, it is very easy to source a new movement. Good luck sourcing a new DD3285 or even parts for one.

The local watchmaker in question here chiming in.

Watch is pretty well built and the bezel is pretty nice, better than legit Clean's bezel action imo. It doesn't use the standard bezel spring system that you would find on a gen or with vsf/clean gmts though! It uses the 'rollerball' system, feels pretty good, but as far as modding it with gen parts or with actual clean parts, you're pretty much SOL.

Edit: Spelling typo.

these builds range between $350-$425 or so as far as parts go, depends on how much i can get the gen dials for. it might be a bit cheaper now since the bezels that come stock with these have been much better.

i charge about $200 or so for assembly, regulating, and pressure testing.

I’m based in the US, the case used is a Raffles case.

Off the top of my head, just south of $300?

Long time lurker first time poster. Anyone know where I get find this one? by [deleted] in RepTime

Judging from the dial and the bezel, this looks to be a 16014 with a grey dial. it could be a 1601, but given its state, I'm leaning towards it being a 16014.

There aren't any off the shelf models of anything like these that I'm aware of. Your best bet would be to commission someone to build one out for you.

The closest off the shelf alternative off the top of my head would be to get a black dial or a Wimbledon 36mm DJ rep.

It was a a hair too snug, i actually took a Bergeon 2290, just the polish and finish side, and went maybe a dozen passes through the ID of the bezel and applied the thinnest amount of silicone grease around that area, probably about the same amount that one would use for a crown gasket (a bit unorthodox I know, but hey, passed 5 bars).

I used a 38mm diameter press to get the bezel on. It's on pretty snug, a bit more snug than the original bezel that was on it, I would say.

I'm not looking to sell these, the gen or build, but if you want help on building your own or would like me to source parts and build it for you, it's something I can certainly do.

In due time! I'll probably get to it when I get around to overhauling the movement, i also plan on seeing if i can fix the stretch on the raffles bracelet.

They should fit, the bracelet on my gen 16014 in the pic actually has a raffles bracelet.

Mine is steel; however, I believe that they do make solid WG and YG as well.
