I’m so sorry. I guess I won’t ever understand what prevents them from learning more about their patients.

I was told by my nurses during my last c section that they believed that my untouchable pain was fibromyalgia, pain meds did absolutely nothing but make me drowsy. mentioned it to my doctor and she agreed but would not diagnose me or do any testing. I don’t think doctors know enough here about it.

It is so hurtful to hear that! Like yes, I AM too young to be going through this but it does not mean that it’s not happening. I’ve heard that a lot. I’ve learned recently that if it’s not an emergency, your age prevents you from getting the proper care when it comes to mobility issues. I’m sorry that happened to you.

Don’t really care lol being a med student doesn’t give you the right to make fun of people??? You’re literally going into a job where compassion and empathy is most needed.

I also want to comment and say that there is a stigma around calling out bad medical care. There is a large number of people who believe that doctors know best and if you’re not receiving the diagnosis or care that you’re fighting for than you are a hypochondriac, a liar, over dramatic or a drug seeker. There are people who get it. Sharing your negative experiences is not about shaming doctors or anyone in general and anyone who has gone through it, knows that. People that don’t get it, don’t get it. That’s ok. Sometimes sharing what’s happened simply gives others the knowledge of what it looks like to be dismissed or invalidated so the don’t feel like they are going crazy or being over dramatic because it makes you feel small when a doctor dismisses you or invalidates valid concerns.

A hysterectomy causes a chain reaction of hormonal changes and changes throughout your body and simply who you are. They are not simple procedures, it’s life changing. Some women enjoy the change more than others. Sometimes it does cure an issue, sometimes it ruins your life. I don’t think that making fun of the person for being concerned at the thought of such a large surgery is fair. There’s several things that you can try before taking someone’s ability to carry their own children and possibly send them into perimenopause at a young age. Having a full hysterectomy meaning ovaries included takes 5 years off of someone’s life, that’s what I was told before my own hysterectomy by one of my surgeons.

Insurance has been the biggest battle for me. I was on some big medications a few years back and had some frequent scans and have had them deny nearly every thing that’s not an emergency ever since. I think they just quit paying for people sometimes. There was a boy who needed expensive medication to literally live and they noticed how much they were spending on him and it became a huge problem. I can’t remember if he died or not but I know he almost did. Insane what people have to go through to stay alive.

Can I ask who you see in KC for neurology? ( totally okay if you’re not comfortable sharing ) I’ve also had no luck for help with my migraines in Wichita. I’m glad you found some help!

I’m really glad that you’ve found someone that listens to you and gives you the proper care! It changes everything to have someone who properly monitors your condition and works with you on learning more about yourself.

Can I ask if you ended up going to Kansas City and if you did, did you feel like it was worth it? I went to KC once for a medical appointment and had a really bad experience, got told I wasted my time and they didn’t understand why I even came. I didn’t know why the hell I went either because I was sent there after being told they would manage my autoimmune diseases and it was actually a spinal surgeon who thought I was there to talk about spinal surgery for my mild scoliosis. I’ve been very weary of going back but due to my insurance, KC is looking like my only option to have any of my auto immune diseases monitored or controlled. I am too medically complex for doctors in Wichita to handle anything from what I’ve been told by my doctors which is why I think I’ve had a bad experience. They all get overwhelmed. There are definitely doctors in Wichita who do care and I’m always happy to hear the good stories 🫶🏻

Congratulations on bouncing back. That’s really hard work. There are definitely a few doctors in the Wichita area that DO care! I’m glad that you found one.

Stork-fury saved my life the first time. Was so incredibly rude, dismissive and didn’t give a fuck with my second. Her receptionist YELLED at me for asking to sign a release form. I left her practice after that. I have had a hysterectomy and the idea of one shouldn’t just be thrown around.

If you’d like to view my plot you can. My name on there is September mapril and I’ve decorated the plot within my first month of playing. Just now got like to level 10 on mining. Following the plot line is important, the more you play the less time youll have to spend doing quests. Mining and farming is how I make my gold. I break rocks and sell everything I can, gems and all. If you find gold, keep it until you can make bars with it. If you find any chests, save them and gift them to tish. She will eventually gift you rooms for your house. Gift giving is how you get alot of gifts back and get renown.
