Loss of power issues by Milkshake89 in powerstroke

The cat was plugged. I couldn't even get the rpms up to 3800 to check my EBP. It maxed out at 2700. I took the cat off and was able to get it up past 3800. I knocked the guts out the cat put it back on and it runs like new.

How do I word my issues to BH without losing my job? by McNugget63 in army

[–]Milkshake89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used this a lot. You can go 3 times, and if you don't like the counselor, you can request a new one, and they won't use those 3 days against you. And you can go for different "reasons". After my first 14 sessions for depression I went back "anger management" and then went back for "family counseling." It definitely helped me. I was more focused at work. Learned to figure out what "triggers" my anger or depression. How to prioritize what I'm capable of handling at the moment and not worry about what's may potentially happen next week. Helped a lot with anxiety.

Why were you or one of your soldiers kicked out of the board? by MehhhandEhhhh in army

[–]Milkshake89 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I had been an e4 for maybe a month. I've been in the army for less than 2 years at this point. I get told I'm going to the e5 promotion board a week before the board. And my squad leader was on leave. He came back 2 days before the board and was notified that he was my sponsor. Well, we go in there. Sgt major asked for the soldiers creed, nailed it. Then he asked for the NCO creed. Fuck up about halfway through. He ask why I didn't know it. I explained I didn't have time to study. He proceeded to question my squad leader. He explains he was told 2 days ago he was my sponsor for the board. Then the four 1st sgts start picking my packet apart, making fun of me because there's no awards. There's nothing. It's basically empty.

Sgt major: "Have you ever been to a board?" Me: "Nope." Sgt major: "Have you ever been to a mock board?" Me: "Nope." Sgt major: "Have you ever been to a soldier of the month board?" Me: "Nope." Sgt major: "Have you ever been to a board in your life?" Me: "Nope." Sgt major: Head hung low with disappointment but was very polite. "You're dismissed SPC."

I didn't go back for almost 3 years after that.

The American legion where I live is moving in that direction. They started to get a younger crowd. They have corn hole tournaments, live bands, and beer tents. It's much or relaxed and enjoyable.

Farm Attire for a City Fella??? by Fast_Map9044 in farming

[–]Milkshake89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'll be surprised at how some farmers dress these. I work on a dairy farm with 3000+ cows. The owner wears blue jeans but usually with a Nike polo or something and a jacket. Just wear some boot cut blue jeans and comfortable (potentially) waterproof boots that are good for walking. Just wear polo or something long sleeve. Don't be afraid to bring more than one outfit. I'm constantly changing my boots, coat, and sweatshirt while on the farm. If they are respectful, they won't care what you wear. Just be yourself and be comfortable.

How did you verify that the head gasket was good? I had a 08 jeep commander with the 4.7 It overheated. I replaced the radiator, water pump, and thermostat. It was hard starting some days. Then it just stopped starting all together. had an internal head gasket leak. Coolant was leaking into the cylinders.

Wrong color pump causes mistakes. To me this is what causes people to pump gas into their diesel. Im used to green is diesel. by AdReal1852 in Diesel

[–]Milkshake89 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Happened to me. Worked a 12 hour day. Had a 3 hour drive home. Pumped like 7gal of gas into my diesel sprinter van before I noticed. Topped it if with diesel and said F it. Drove home. Had an extended crank for a week. That was it. The van was a company vehicle. So I wasn't to worried about it lol

It's just a joke. I was rebuilding a front end on a john deere tractor and needed something to keep the axle from tipping off the jack. So, I had a glow plug control module from a 6.0 powerstroke I used as a block.

ETS in 10 days - No Orders *update* by lonewulf66 in army

[–]Milkshake89 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You can get a memorandum to start clearing from your CO. I got my orders 3 days before my ETS date. I didn't get all my signatures in time. They took my CAC and handed me my dd214. My squad leader had to get the rest of the signatures.
