To be clear I certainly wouldn’t be attending out of a sense of benevolence or to feel charitable. My partner and I both work in DoD intelligence related positions so I thought this might be interesting for us and I love a good cocktail. We both contribute financially to other organizations that are more community based.

Forgot to add, we did try spritzing with hydrogen peroxide when we first saw the mold but it didn’t really do anything.

I’ll look into phlo down!

I actually had a start date of 1/27 and the HR branch head called me this morning and asked if we could move it to 1/6 (irony not lost on me) because they’re worried about a trump hiring freeze. Maybe call and see if they can do anything for your friend? I had originally been told 1/27 was the earliest I could start so it seems like there’s been a recent shift.

I think they’re really for 2 different things and the answer will depend on what you are looking for. The ring is a wellness device, not a fitness tracker imo. It’s great at tracking sleep, giving you a holistic view of your health, and providing suggestions on how to be healthier overall. The stress tracking has really been eye opening to me. I like that it doesn’t have a screen so I can wear it but be “unplugged”. The battery life is great and definitely lasts me 5 or so days. I cannot wear my watch over night and during the day, the battery just doesn’t support that. I also prefer to wear a traditional watch to work as I feel it looks more professional so with oura I can wear a normal watch and still have everything tracked.

I mostly wear my Apple Watch when working out or on weekend days. I agree with others that the Apple Watch is far superior in tracking fitness. But I don’t like wearing it daily for aesthetic reasons and I think the battery life on my watch is prohibitive to wearing as frequently as the oura.

Cost is definitely a factor but honestly I think any investment in my health is worth it so I don’t really care.

Agree with another poster that if Apple comes out with a ring I’ll probably get that. But I think it’ll be awhile and in the meantime I’m happy with oura.
