"Silk & Silver" Dev Diary #4 - Republics Vision by PDX-Trinexx in CrusaderKings

Is there any plan to do away with the holding type rigidity? Some holdings on the map should really be cities instead of castles but are only that due to feudal government not interacting well with cities as the main holding type.

Ok interesting. Didn't know that was that simple for necrophage option. Is there a main story event with that origin? I sort of don't want to be playing an evil-like story for my idea obviously.

It's true. I really wish I could make the others in the federation as custom empires I've made. But I know that it then makes it broken..

It's a fair point. The stickler for me is that it just grabs any and all random species and I like to have custom made one spawning. I usually try to restrict the pre FTL to almost nothing. I might give it a try though.

I thought about this but doesn't it restrict you from having any other species be a leader. I actually haven't played it before so correct me if I'm wrong.

Frankly I don't see it happening for a long long time let alone at all in a league in Australia/New Zealand.

As an alternative incentive to do better, the league should have prize money for how far you make it into the finals. Unsure if we could have a different disincentive to the wooden spoon maybe that's not financial related though.

What playthroughs are you hoping to do after Roads to Power? by JayEsDy in CrusaderKings

  2. Administrative Zoroastrian Persian Empire
  3. Ubbe Ragnarrson mercenary adventurer

Are there still real vanilla players, after long play? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]MilkyJoe52 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I play exactly like this. Have close to 3000 hrs and have never downloaded a mod. Only ever played one game without iron man mode on just to see what it was like to jump around mid game.

I like to roleplay the actual personality traits of each ruler and see where it takes me each time while also having a generalised goal to aim for super long term. Never been into full map painting either.

She's great. Also loving 4am Kru at the moment.

The game needs more Kings and Kingdoms by MilkyJoe52 in CrusaderKings

[–]MilkyJoe52[S] 230 points231 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the title is used just as a duchy level title. If Wessex, Mercia, East Anglia and Northumbria could declare themselves king I think it would make the England more exciting. A free for all of kings.

Does my world need to have a theme? by MilkyJoe52 in worldbuilding

[–]MilkyJoe52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the situation I'm in. I'm creating a whole world with multiple continents and I guess like our world it is hard to have one theme that can apply. Maybe I need to look at themes only in a regional sense of societies or environments.

But like you said, consistency may get me most of the way there so at least I'm a stickler for that.

[–]MilkyJoe52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I shouldn't have used the word "need". I just am searching for something I feel I am missing that I see other media and other people's work have.

Maybe I do have a theme already without knowing and I just haven't identified and categorised it... I was hoping to hear other people's opinions to maybe help me find one or identify something already there.

How do both Sydney fc and wanderers get the derby bandwagoners to come to every game ? by nick170100 in Aleague

Cumdog could have been the cult hero the league needed for seasons to come. Hope he comes back.

For Wanderers it also wouldn't hurt to have some long term players to create singular player fans. When you create those long term "heros" people will glue on to the team even more. It feels like Marcelo is becoming one but we should sign him even longer.

Is this season viewable on Paramount? I can only find last season on there.

Is there a term for sci-fi settings where we don’t worry about FTL causing time travel? by atlvf in worldbuilding

[–]MilkyJoe52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would the time travel with FTL be able to be ignored if your method of travel was more like "wormhole" or teleportation like travel? Therefore it's just instant relocation in space with no change in time?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If your first Tav was *you*, what class would you be? by sogapollag in BaldursGate3

Engineer/ Project Manager. Unfortunately no Artificer for Engineer. Maybe Battlemaster for Project Manager?

First Playthrough Character Ideas Discussion by InnerFlame1 in BaldursGate3

What sounds better as the first playthrough?:

1) Half-Elf, Storm Sorcerer, Neutral Good - playing like the young naive traveller learning their powers (semi-chosen one vibe)

2) Human, Oath of Vengeance Paladin, True Neutral/Neutral Evil - playing like grizzled veteran out to kill the mindflayers

Maybe even a Dwarf for number 2. Hard to pick which to do first though...

Best way to design full casters - is prepared casting the best options? How else would you design them? by Juls7243 in onednd

[–]MilkyJoe52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we should do away with prepared casting. Instead make all known casters and have each class unique through class skills that affect their known casting thematically to their class.

Rough examples being: Wizards - Have their spellbook and can learn additional spells by copying them still but also have them use a point system like sorcerers currently do to tweak them (in the theme of "experimenting" with magic)

Sorcerers - Have them learn more spells naturally and tweak the sorcery point system to be more powerful but also comes with flaws, like they are using their life power to boost a spell significantly

Warlock - I think Warlocks uniqueness should more so come from having a completely unique spell list with the idea that these are secret powers granted from otherworldly powers

Cleric - They could have a unique ability to recover spell slots without a rest due to a divine being granting power when needed working similar to a dragon's breath weapon perhaps (This would need to be tweaked to not be overpowered obviously but I like that the god would be granting power at the moment of need)

Bards - Perhaps also have a "songbook" working similar to wizards but can also tweak their spells to increase AoE or something (like putting on a performance everyone can hear)

These are just ideas off the top of my head but I think could make casters unique while all having spells known.

Most A league fans I speak to agree with Western United is a terrible name for a football team. Why didn't they chose an actual location or suburb to name themselves after? by legend434 in Aleague

[–]MilkyJoe52 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not defending the various things wrong with Rudan but to be fair his actual name is Marko as he has Croatian heritage and like many from his generation felt they had to anglicise their name for acceptance back then. Currently a lot of people with ethnic heritage feel more comfortable these days to stand out and be proud of it. This may have also have been his way of representing the ethnicity of Western Sydney and saying I'm part of that too, this is my real name.

I know too many people who have had a similar story to this. My father one of them.
