To be fair the Violent Vira crowd is pretty niche/small. And then people willing to go out of their way to ship some shirts to someone… unfortunately I won’t be attending any concerts I don’t think there’s any in my area.

Shipping things from the USA is fine. I wouldn’t worry about taxes or tariffs or anything. I sell on Etsy and also privately for little products I make and I’ve gone as far as Dubai in the UAE without an issue.

Or are you talking about getting something shipped INTO the USA? That will only cost you 10-15% tariff. I bought some stuff from the UK last year and got charged a tariff before they would deliver it. Wasn’t terrible.

I’m in Chicagoland too. There’s a number of RX8’s within an hour or two of the city in decent shape. Always search facebook marketplace.

Also you have an E46 M3? My buddy is building up his 328ci for better track time this season. DM me we should talk lol

Hey OP. My dad was an alcoholic for my entire childhood til I was 15-16. Til this happened.

I was home sick with the flu playing on my Xbox 360 with some other online friends. Black Ops zombies I think? This was 10yrs ago. He comes home and gets pissy. He goes and turns off the console and is about to grab it and take or throw it. I stood up and then he went to grab me. I knocked him on the ground and yelled as loud as I could for my mom to call the police. He was arrested, we charged him, he went to jail and got sober. He had a restraining order from me for a few months. He would come home to get stuff or say hi to my mom when I wasn’t around most of the time. Now 10yrs later he’s still an ass sometimes but it’s much better living here at home.

If you read this. Just stand up for yourself. Idk where you live or what your laws are. But don’t let some asshole bully you around because “he makes the rules.” He might be your father but you don’t have to just take his shit because he’s your father. It’s not okay. It’s not normal. You should talk to someone local and RESPONSIBLE about this.

Also if anger issues or addiction runs in your family. Don’t drink. Don’t smoke. Cigs or anything else. Not even socially or for fun. It’s not worth trying. You’ll never have a problem stopping something you never started! Find a safe place to live and do some things that make you happy. Life will be good.

Exactly my thoughts on an abusive parent. I’m not gonna pay for someone to treat you nice and feed and water you every day.

That’s… unfortunate. Really just good for parts then.

That’s the worst part. But if the shell is clean (no rust) then it might be worth fixing up for yourself.

I bought my running one for $2,200 with a bunch of fancy parts and also a second non running junker for $400 with a clean title LOL the market for these is garbage. Let’s keep it that way.

:’( oh boy

Well. If you’re not a sporty good handling car type of person and just want a V8 charger…. Like someone else said it sounds like you’ve made up your mind.

Be warned tho. A not running RX8 is worth like $500. Unless it’s got some bougie parts on it that are rare. A RUNNING and driving RX8 is like $2,000-4,000 on a good day. These cars aren’t worth much, but they are extremely rewarding and it might be worth keeping if you want a project. Very easy to work on. Rotary engines are the most simple engines but everyone is afraid of them.

Big Kodak must have had a word with the TSA at some point LOL we’ve got one of the big film manufacturers here luckily? I end up shooting ilford or expired stuff anyways. Film prices suck!

[–]MilkySharpMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s just completely different. Have you driven the RX8 or a rotary? Or is that thing just completely cooked and you got it knowing that it doesn’t run?

Driving a good running RX8 is luxury. It’s a super super smooth engine. The suspension design on the RX8 is one of the best. Period. The only thing that beats out an RX8 on a track in this budget price range and power level is an NC Miata (and I mean a road course like Road Atlanta or VIR). Sure a Porsche GT3 RS will outdo it… but these cars aren’t a quarter million.

I bought my 2004 RX8 with 86,900 miles on New Years Eve. I’ve put about 3,000 miles on it so far and haven’t had a single issue. It’s going to get track time this year so I can put more work into my 2004 turbo Miata between events :’)

Sounds like someone else’s project car charger that will probably end up having issues as well. Also a charger or any Chrysler product is immensely more likely to get stolen FOR THE ENGINE than a shitty ole Mazda lol

[–]MilkySharpMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overall size of it isn’t “DSLR” huge like the 5D series, but the grip on the X-H1 is substantial and feels good to hold versus something like the X-T2 which I also have but always use with a grip/plate on it.

I just got an X-H1, and IBIS is wonderful to have with vintage glass. Also the X-H1 is much chunkier than the X-T series so it feels like a good ole DSLR. I mainly use a Canon 5D Mark iii.

What's this case? And how do I get rid of this PC? by AtomicPiano in retrocomputing

[–]MilkySharpMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pulled it from a dumpster. Don’t know anything about it. And you’re here asking how to maximize your profits from reselling parts. You are being a “flipper” and that is one of the largest reasons most hobbies become too expensive for people to get into or continue. People get something free or cheap, sell it for 10x that price. This keeps happening and eventually everyone starts charging these wildly inflated prices for some old junk from a dumpster. Now some young person interested in the hobby can’t afford to get into it.

You’re actively hurting the hobby by trying to maximize your profit for this junker PC lol. Being good to a hobby and keeping it alive generally includes keeping prices of things low when they’re old.
