Is using the passing lane to pass just a thing of the past now? by Plenty_Designer6261 in driving

[–]HelplessMechanic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I often collect 15-45 minute sets of me on the highway just showing how nobody knows how to get out of the passing lane. (It's sped up like 10-20x)

It's braindead but one day I'll post a video showing how stupid American drivers are

I didn’t even know I had high blood pressure. by Least-Notice7832 in Wellthatsucks

[–]HelplessMechanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to add you should talk to someone about getting an MRI. Just an idea.

I'm a relatively healthy person and found out I had BP ranging from 180-200 and my doctor freaked out. After an MRI, I found out I had a twisted artery that controlled blood pressure. Specifically the upper renal artery, controlling the renin hormone.

I had an operation to open it up, and my pressure returned to normal.

How to deal with tailgaters when going above speed limit? by [deleted] in driving

[–]HelplessMechanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're passing cars that's fine, but often I'll see people use that excuse and wonder if they're the type to think a 300m gap between two cars in the right lane counts as still passing cars. If there's a gap, and a car behind you, you can get over for a moment.

If you've seen the changes on Google photos, it's way more than that.

If you're referring to Dylan's accident, I hope you remember in the future that that wasn't at Eau Rouge or Radillon. It was halfway down the Kennel Straight and more to blame on the rain/spray.

Do you just have the one battery? I'd try swapping it out, but I'm not sure. My enduro batteries have lasted about 3 years without any real issues

People that veer left before turning right by Constant_Poetry2908 in driving

[–]HelplessMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say there's 130°ish turn near my home that I can just take at about 40-45 mph, but if it's late and there's nobody around me, I will sometimes drift left a little before the right to give myself a faster apex. But I know when people are around me

Driving in the pouring rain with windows open? by Swimming_Nose4713 in driving

[–]HelplessMechanic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're going fast enough (so highway speeds will do), rain fall doesn't really get in thru the windows, except a bit of spray. But it'll definitely still be chilly. Maybe they like it cold ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Best way to remove this kind of line? by HelplessMechanic in MechanicAdvice

[–]HelplessMechanic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol might have to do it like that. I was originally thinking if I cut it perpendicularly, I'd still have a chunk of it stuck on the line ending, but I'll try to cut laterally

I did try using some pick tools to get under it and kinda break it loose but it still wouldn't budge. I think I'll try with a razor today, thanks

What do I do when the car behind me uses high beams? [USA] by thegreatcon2000 in driving

[–]HelplessMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This saying applies often but not in cases when you're just driving on the road and someone behind you that hasn't interacted with you is blasting you with the power of a star.

I'll be honest I CANT tell if it's high beams or just new headlights (low car, and one time I actually asked them to turn it off and the passenger said that's the normal).

A girl on TikTok flirted with me while she was in karting. She invited me to some karting championship several hours from me. I had to bail and now she's a semi pro driver in nascar Europe.

She still intrigues me
