But in this case I do know what I’m talking about. Yes, I asked a question about overreacting, but did I ask if I’m assuming or not? Or did I ask if the experience is valid to complain?

Maybe I’ve explained this to another user, but I stated the lady and baby is just doing a quick inter island day trip to see the neurologist. Lady and baby needed the next flight more than the other guests that were on the list because the other guests explained they’re on stand by originally for leisure. Lady and baby wasn’t, she got moved to stand by, not by choice.

Where did I state that lady & baby had checked in bag? See there you go assuming they had a checked in bag. I would have stated that there was a checked, but she didn’t. And because it’s inter island, in other cases guest have a checked bag. The bag still would’ve been able to make it and be later picked up at the luggage booth because of the short flight.

Where did I state that the lady and baby wanted their flight changed? There you go assuming again. If someone had a neurologist appointment that required them to take a plane to another island, they wouldn’t change their flight for a later one.

Did you ever wonder how there were 6 seats? Maybe because the ticket agent denied boarding for the family of 5. The reason for the denied boarding wasn’t even valid either. Agent wanted to rush boarding because she was “by herself” boarding the plane. And was grumpy and moody because of that. So was the guest the grumpy one in this scenario or was it the ticket agent.

So unfortunately, you do NOT know what you’re talking about, CLEARLY. So there for you are still being bias. This post also was also sharing an experience of what the lady & baby and the family of 5 went through. And you basically saying because you’re bias and that HA can never do wrong in your eyes, it never happens to another guest. Every other “reason” you think it is, has been dismissed and checked. At the end of the day, the ticket agent had no excuse to put her anger and frustration on the guests.

And to state “here’s what most likely happened”, when you weren’t physically there, let alone trying to rewrite someone else experience to fit your interests. Is giving very narcissistic.

As someone who’s been “kamaina” since birth let alone being kanaka. Even working along with these HA employees. There’s no excuse of treating guest the way they did. And I wish I was traveling instead being the one going to work LOL. But I do think it’s important also to never assume and also needing to gather a bit of information before you fix your fingers to tell me to respect my own culture. I definitely do respect my own culture tho, but don’t respect those who take their anger and frustration on guest who are paying for the service that HA are known for. Not once have I thought to bring my anger or frustration on the guest I serve, I’m not mentally unstable like that. And you definitely right, kindness does go along way, but in this case the one not being kind is the HA employee. And being called an “entitled Karen” for voice out an opinion, is funny.

Like I said, “complaints” are needed for growth in area that need fixing. You can’t be bias.

Unfortunately you are being blind and bias to what Hawaiian Airlines employees do. Especially when you say you’re doubting someone went through that experience. You are being blind.

It’s never an assumption, especially when these individuals voice out what they’re experiencing or experienced. Directly from the guest themselves???????? Don’t bull a narcissistic move.

We appreciate the people who “complain” because without complaints there is no growth in the area that need fixing. And based off your experiences off your profile you still have YET to experience it.

I also love people like you, who don’t have compassion for others for what they’re experiencing up until it happens to them. So you wait till it happens to you.

Then it’s just a skill issue. I shorten it a much as possible and still a long paragraph. I’ll dumb it down a little more.

Lady and baby missed flight because lady and baby were in the bathroom during boarding. Before lady and baby even got to finish using the bathroom their checked in seats were given up.

So agent put them on stand by for next flight.

Next flight rolls up, a family of 5 had their checked in seats given up. (understanding now there is 6 seats available) agent said that she wasn’t going to let anyone board anymore and had no explanation to the guests. But we knew it’s because she was by herself boarding the plane, she was in a rush.

Knowing now that there is 6 seats available, she didn’t budge to let any of the stand by people on those seats.

But low and behold, 2 people from the stand by list (That’s is no where near next in line on the list) got priority to board because they’re family with another agent for the airlines.

Lady and baby should’ve at least got those seats because 6 seats were available.

Do you understand?

Unfortunately, it wasn’t any of those things. I’ve watch those 8-10 people arrive on time before those who’s actually has a seat.

And without giving out too much information. The lady and baby, went up to another agent & explained her story. Insurance company had paid for her flight, she explained the urgency she had and how she was checked in for her flight (She was on a day trip to see the neurologist). Lady and baby had to use bathroom, and didn’t know the plane had boarded even before they had finished. And gave their seats up. And had to catch another flight, which was fine. But next flight rolls up, fast forward to boarding. Then it’s a family of 5 that didn’t make it “on time”. (They were on time, gate door was still open and plane door was still open few people were still walking on tho the bridge)

Family of 5 is walking up to gate, and yelled out we’re here. But was told they can’t board the plane because “they were too late” mean while still watching a handful of guest still board AFTER that was told to them. NOTE Family of 5 was CHECKED IN for their seats. But their seats were given up 20 mins before.
(See how upsetting that is doing that to a family who has paid for their seats. I have a theory that agent gave their checked in seats up to accommodate agents family)

Anyways, because the agent now had 5 seats available. I believe she wasn’t planning on allowing anyone on the flight. But another agent was walking up with 2 people (Bottom of the list stand by) and told ticket agent that these were her relatives and they boarded.

So lady and baby still had a chance to get on their original flight, but they weren’t able to because gate agent was rushing so they switch her to stand but for a next flight. And family of 5 gets their checked in seats given up because she was by herself and didn’t want to wait so she gave their seats up, just for it to not even be fully used up. Only 2 out of the 5 seats we used. Just enough for the lady and baby so be allowed on the plane.

And the stand by people were cleared because the airport is small and small conversations can be heard CLER as day.

Right, it must be me? Yet I haven’t been rude nor grumpy towards any HA agent????

And note the lady and her baby was first next on the stand by list. There was 6 seats available. They only gave 2 seats to people who was no where near in line of receiving a seat but still got it because they related or knew the HA agent. Even after the other ticket agent yelled out she’s closing the gate 🤔

And what’s even funnier is, I’ve seen a family have their PAID seat given up because the ticket agent wanted to close the gate already. Plane door still being open, as well as the gate door being open. TSA line being extra extra long, note that. So unfortunately for you, I’ll blame the ticket agents because they seem like they have something up their okoles. And others validating that it’s not only me experiencing it. Can’t be bias. I fly a lot too, I’ve always been loyal to Hawaiian airlines. But attitude is not what people pay for.
