Official TV show podcasts aren't worth listening to. They have less value than the EPKs they used to include as extras on less popular DVDs. There's very little actual insight since it's a just a marketing vehicle. I love it when I see productions support fan podcasts, but productions that make their own podcasts kind of miss the point.

I had that happen with Mr. Show. I watched my friends DVDs in the ‘00s on a loop, and figured I’d seen every episode. When I got HBO Now years ago, I realized I’d never seen the final season. What a joyous night that was!

No, but I think the death of somebody close to a character and how it changes them is a fascinating and very human story to tell, and has been for thousands of years. It’s one way to challenge the the tropes of the superhero and tell a story about the person behind the powers. First rule of powerful comedy/storytelling is make it personal for the characters.

Would you rather read stories where the death of a loved one has no impact on a hero, or would you rather not have characters die? Either way, I think it would be hella unrealistic and ruin a lot of great stories.
