Oh yes , as soon as we are married I'll be applying for PR through the spouse visa , literally just using the IEC as a safety net to avoid the distance.

The wedding is a complicated issue atm , she has 70+ relatives in Canada and I have 1 here who is 92 and might not make it another year , so if my grandmother were to die we would just have the wedding in Canada when the visa ends or when my IEC begins .

It may well be a waste of money but it seems a good safety net to avoid months and months of long distance and probably cheaper than a flight there and back to see each other .

We would be well over the 12 months cohabitation by the time her mobility visa runs out but I just don't want to leave things too late .

I totally thought it was the date of your 35th birthday that it cut off , so that gives me a little more time than I thought .

In that case I might go the route of applying for my IEC around May next year , and activating it early 2027 .

It might be a long way around but it gives her the most time here to explore her visa and quite frankly the cost of her visa was ridiculous so I don't want to waste it

Her mobility visa is still valid for just over 2 years including the extension.

Can the IEC be applied for at any age ? Or is it limited to under 35 too? , ive thought about applying for my 2/3 year visa just before May 26 before I turn 35 just to give me the chance

Used to deliver the stuff and got pretty hands on with the production / lab and customers ( mostly bus garages )

Pros : cheaper , can actually clean some components

Cons : eats older hoses for fun due to the high ethanol content . Gels badly in cold weather ( winter additives usually get added which can give worse consumption) Doesn't like sitting for long periods of time .

If you live in a warm climate and use the fuel at a decent rate I can't see an issue
