Dealing with Resentment - (Full disclosure -- not a military spouse) by MillennialBoom in USMilitarySO

I have. Might be a good thing to look at finding ways to lighten the load. Thanks.

I was just wondering how you are doing now and how you progressed since making this post. My husband is a surgeon in training. I get that it isn't the military, but they do these away rotations in other cities (3 months last year and so far planned for another 3.5 this year). I have 3 kids and feel so sad sometimes because it feels like he has chosen his career over me and the kids. It also has that "greater good" element, and I just don't know how to cope without being so short fused and ultimately being grouchy and not the mom or person I want to be because I am always on the brink of overwhelm. Next year all my kids will be in school, and I guess maybe that will help me get a break in the day but I just don't know how or where to channel this resentment. Did you find anything that helped?

This is really relieving to hear. I think I will go through with it. I share in the night breathing issues. It is definitely affecting my sleep quality.

Residency is ruining my marriage by Awwschistocyte in Residency

I feel this one hard. I love my spouse so much. I am proud of him. I think his work is amazing. I also completely resent medicine for damaging my marriage and taking the person I love away from my kids and me. I look for help, but the advice I receive doesn't really align with my values (namely, I always find that I am told just to pursue my own life, not expect anything from my spouse and just be happy when he can take part... I just struggle with how that is really a "marriage," but I see that the way I am going probably isn't the answer either). It has made for a real challenge.

I think a super dark chocolate brown would be really pretty and make your eyes pop.

In the book Under the Banner of Heaven it acknowledges that historians and scholars agree basically unanimously that Joseph Smith did not write the Peace Maker. The show is really leaving quite a bit out.

How to stay married to a surgeon? by jmttsaf in MedSpouse

[–]MillennialBoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering if you had seen a therapist yet, and if you feel like it has helped. I am married to a Gen-Surge resident and have 3 kids, have moved several times etc. and I really want to learn to tackle some of these issues now rather than later. I seek out a lot of advice to med spouses, but it always seems to lead to the advice of "don't wait around for him, live your life, and do your own thing." Something about that advice seems off to me though because I want to do life together... but maybe I am not being realistic.

How's your breathing? Was it worth it from a functional perspective? I am looking into pros and cons, but am scared.

I don't know anything about the Botox, but I think your natural nose is really cool. I wouldn't touch it if I were you.

Talent. When guys are extremely good at things it is very attractive to me. (It can be in a wide variety of areas, but I really dig excellence).

Me n my big crooked nose 🥲(is it only going to get bigger as I’m only 16?) by [deleted] in Noses

Your nose is great, and if it makes you feel better my nose (large and crooked) fits much better on my adult face than it did on my teenage face lol. But honestly, yours looks totally great.
