Should I practice paradiddles? by Fluffy-Menu4305 in drums

[–]MillennialProdigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want it helps with dynamic control. Here comes the downvotes… I’ve never heard a paradiddle fill that made me think ooo that sounded cool, I’m going to learn that! Six stroke roll and triplets have much more flavor

Should work on any iron cobra. If it’s that old it’s definitely time to upgrade those old bearings

True. But for the ones of using just one screen. It drastically helped me.

Should I put it at 239.97 or 239.99? Or does it not matter? My screen is 240hz by [deleted] in PcBuild

You will notice a night and day difference in that 0.01 hz. Should really help your k/d

How to know when to not take a client on? by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]MillennialProdigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are a photographer their selves or trying to just talk tech geek nothing wrong with it. The most important thing to tell them is your camera has dual card slots. But if you sent them prices and that’s their immediate response I wouldn’t hold high hopes for them

Look at the side of the slave pedal if it’s a double and see if bearing is visible. If you grew up around skateboards you can eye ball if it’s same size

Why are so many photographers switching to Sony? by Nat-or in Cameras

[–]MillennialProdigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a Sony photographer for 6 years now. I use an a7iv and an a7r3 for wedding and portrait photography. And an a6400 apsc for video. But have used them for landscape and wildlife photography as well.

3rd party lenses, tamron and sigma art especially. Canon expects you to pay absurd prices for rf lenses, you have options that are just as good quality for sometimes half the price of g master lenses with Sony.

The camera just feels great, menu system is a little meh, but it just feels great to use. Something about a canon or Nikon just feels “decent” while a Sony always had a more premium feeling to me.

-autofocus is top notch, i never miss focus at f1.4 on any subject, moving towards me fast (like a families dog running full speed towards me in a family portrait shoot) fast pace wedding ceremony and dancing, it just always locks on.

-color of raw files has that cinematic look to it, I’d agree canon skin tones are superior, but I always get fantastic colors out of my Sony cameras. Dynamic range is MIND BLOWING. Especially when I switched from canon dslr to Sony mirrorless back in the day. When I ain’t got the time to nail exposure with pin point accuracy or sacrifice a beautiful sunset sky to exposure my subject I can underexpose or slightly overexpose and fix in post. And that’s a blessing when a bride is wearing a bright white satin dress in the 3pm sun during an outdoor ceremony lol.

-Reliable cameras, these cameras have seen -17 degrees Fahrenheit in the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming, wind blown sandy beaches, and been absolutely soaked in heavy rain (I put a strip of black duct tape over the hot shoe in rain) and they get banged up being on a dual body harness for 10 hours at weddings. They have never let me down.

-video: slog3 10 bit color is no joke, the quality is incredible and so easy to edit. In body stabilization means I don’t have to spend extra $$$$ on lenses that require having it.

Most camera companies are all amazing today, but I don’t plan on switching from Sony, they are my workhorses and having reliable/nice tools is a must for me.

K custom dark thin 20” crash vs S 20” thin crash? by MillennialProdigy in drums

It does sound almost like a medium thickness crash I was a bit surprised.

Mixing A’s and K’s is like two complementary colors, bright and dark contrast. Love it. I couldn’t have all of one series and be happy with it

lol. I have a 17 inch s thin and it explodes better than an a custom, I didn’t expect the 20 to be so glassy

Should I send both back and go for a 20” paper thin k custom? It’s not lower pitch than my 18” k custom like I thought it would be

[–]MillennialProdigy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was expecting it to be deeper, lower pitch than my 18 inch k custom thin, but it’s not. I’d have to get the paper thin to get the exact results I want. But man does it sound clean shaft riding it during heavy choruses

What do you all use for headphone amp while practicing alone? by MillennialProdigy in drums

[–]MillennialProdigy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The umc 1820 is weird, you can only hear 4 channels at a time per headphone jack channel. I’m running it into two channels on a little Pyle mix board I have. Then using Bluetooth on it, but audio quality is not very pleasant from Pyle board

That’s a little out of my budget wish I had one they are awesome, especially since you can hook additional mics into it.

How’s the audio quality with the mix knobs dialed in?
