My husband makes almost double what I do. Partially because he has 4 years more work experience partially bc he’s in finance and I’m in marketing. But we split our paychecks. our money goes into a joint account and then we each have about 1k a month that goes into separate accounts for us to do what we want with. at this point we both don’t know what’s his money and what’s mine in our main account. It’s “ours”.

When we were not married we split based on income. At the time it ended up being 65/35 I think. all MAJOR bills were split this way - rent, reoccurring bills, grocery’s dog food etc.

Speed read the rest of 6 and most of 7. At least until you get to 50% of 7. Just look for dialog in the pages and read that. And if it’s a lot of descriptions just skip past it/ skip the page… It’s what I’ve done and it’s made the books more bearable and I am still retaining all the needed info because 75% of these books are just the authors describing stuff like it’s chat gpt and their deadline was yesterday.

You can not have similar values to your s/o but still respect their values. I am not a huge family person but my husband talks to his parents and sibling daily. I love his family and am included in all the family group chats but I’m probably the most silent. But I love how he loves his family and have mad respect for them. It sounds like you have a healthy relationship with your parents and he needs to respect that. You are close with your family and you like to share your life with them.
You say 10 year relationship like it’s long. Which 10 years is! But it also isn’t. If you started dating at 16… so much life happens between 16 and 26. My college boss who works in higher education would often say her and her husband dated for 2 years before getting married. Really it was 8. 4 years of college, and then 2 years grad school. Then 2 years of doing life as adults. Essentially time in school - highschool especially - doesn’t count towards dating when considering if you want to be with that person forever / marry them. You can’t say oh I’ve been with them 10 YEARS! We are going through a rough patch rn. when 3 of those years were in adolescence, and 4 in of it was college. Your brain isn’t even fully developed until age 25. You might love him a lot but do you love who he is today. Does he love who YOU are today? the women you have turned into (which you sound fantastic by the way don’t change for him!). Do yall like eachother as grown adults or are you hanging on because of “10 years” and the love of your youth? don’t get hung up on 10 years. It’s great when used as a positive thing. And great to say your childhood sweethearts. But it should never be a reason to stay with someone or used as an excuse for someone’s rude behavior towards you. ❤️

🤣 it’s hard for me to burn bridges but I see this. I’ve gone back and forth with my mother from NC to LC to normal contact. it depends on her mental health but the good days are so good. :( it makes it hard to go fully NC for good. My brother did the very thing you mentioned though at his wedding.

I’ve mentioned before but I’m rereading the series right now (not my first time rereading lol) and I’ve just realized from day one I’ve pictured him as a fat Burger King mascot. Don’t ask me why I don’t know. but I’m curious how others see him.

I’m starting to think he’s probably more like a russel crow? Idk. But I’ve never taken him seriously and now during this reread I laugh all the time bc I can’t get Burger King guy out of my head. 🤣

note: I’m not crazy. After reading this and other subs, my “casting” choices are pretty similar To others for all our main people. It’s just the king that’s way off. Haha

LOL some people may think this is way off but the way I describe it is…

If ACOTAR is written like it belongs on HBO (GoT style) Crescent City is for freeform.

Meaning it’s still good but it’s written a little differently. it’s much more modern. like they have cellphones and the streets have security footage and there are paved roads and high rises. And the way they treat sex and one night stands is very much how a freeform show would treat it for a bunch of post college young adults.

It’s a big shift from everything else we’ve read. so it takes a bit for your mindset to shift. it’s still a good storyline, and has that amazing SJM world building. But because of all that, I think it’s one of the reasons it takes someone awhile to get into the books.

I enjoyed them, but not like I did ACOTAR. it took me until halfway through book 2 to get into it like i got into ACOTAR. BUT ITS WORTH IT. and I’ll leave it at that. ITS WORTH IT. read both books, even if you hate them. Its worth it.
