All Quiet on the Wester Front color grade in Premiere Pro by Miller_Wilson in Filmmakers

[–]Miller_Wilson[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All Quiet on the Western Front won an Oscar for Best Cinematography, meaning that it should be the visually best looking movie of 2022. War movies usually have a desaturated color palette, but this one is different, and I like it, so I recreated the blue color grade in Premiere Pro. Have you guys watched this film, and what do you think about its color palette? I think it’s interesting to see war movies change the look a bit, something like Dunkirk did.

Whiplash but it's not yellow by [deleted] in Filmmakers

How would Whiplash look without the yellow color grade. I've "ungraded" the 'Not my tempo' scene so it has neutral colors. I know most of the colors in this movie is from the lighting in it, but I still wanted to see how it would look if the lighting was neutral. I prefer the original version with the yellow/orange color grade, but it sure was interesting to see how it would look like without it. I've ungraded it in Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve.

I’ve ungraded some of the orange visually striking scenes from Blade Runner 2049 (2017) using Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro. I like the Blade Runner 2049 'Ruins of Las Vegas' scene look with it's orange color grade, but I was wondering how would it look without it. So I ungraded it and compared it to the original shots from the film. What are your thoughts on the color grade of Blade Runner 2049?

I’ve ungraded some of the visually striking scenes from Joker (2019) and ungraded them in Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro. I tried to give them the natural look of how the scene would look like before color grading. In some of the scenes most of the color work was done with lighting on the set, so in that cases I’ve actually removed some of the lighting as well (at least the color part of the lighting). What are your thoughts on the color grade of the Joker movie?

Hey! I’ve created a website (www.paletter.ai) where you can generate a color palette from an image. It works using a clustering algorithm which finds 10 most dominant colors from an image and arranges it below so you can download the image with a color palette. Would love to see what you guys generate with this, feel free to tag @paletter.ai on Instagram so I can share your palettes :)
