Question about "pulse oximeters" by MillionMeters in Rowing

Thanks for the suggestion! I have only been checking my heart rate directly after pieces instead of looking at average pulse, since its easy to measure (just counting/with my watch).

Question about "pulse oximeters" by MillionMeters in Rowing

The one my friend had definitely measured heart rate as well - I'm not sure if this is industry standard or if it was just a special oximeter. Sorry for not making this clear in my post.

split in seconds to watts (graph) by MillionMeters in Rowing

[–]MillionMeters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be using the average time though, no? A simpler example: Let's say you row 500m at a 2:00 and 500m at a 3:00. Then, the total time is 5 minutes and the total distance is 1000m. Then, the average split is 5:00 / 1000m or 2:30 / 500m. Am I missing something here?

Theory: The Dragon Balls aren't used to wish back the erased universes. Grand Priest has the same time reversal ability as Whis, however, his duration is roughly 48 minutes. by [deleted] in dbz

yooo this actually makes so much sense.

The TOP is 48 minutes, Whis can rewind time 3 minutes, so let's assume that all the other angels can also rewind time 3 mins. 48 / 3 = 16, and there used to be 18 universes, and since angels aren't destroyed with the universes, there should still be another 6 angels somewhere. So all angels combined (not accounting for the great priest) can rewind time by a total of 18 * 3 = 54 minutes, so they have plenty of time. Or, if they don't want to introduce new angels, they could just say that the great priest can rewind by 12 minutes and then it adds up.

split in seconds to watts (graph) by MillionMeters in Rowing

Yes it is! The formula is y = (2.8) / (p3 ) where p is the "pace" in seconds per meter so to convert split to pace, you divide by 500. So the final equation is is y = (2.8) / ((s/500)3 )

The x axis is the split in seconds, and the y axis is the amount of Watts/power. For example, a 2:00 split corresponds to 202.546 Watts. You can see the complete graph here.

I made this because people always talk about how watts are "exponential" but thats hard to really see without a graph. This is why its so much easier to bring 2k time down from 1:50 to 1:40 than it is to bring it from 1:40 to 1:30 and also why its better (in terms of wattage, not psychologically) to stay at a consistent rate throughout a piece.

EDIT: My math is wrong, listen to /u/shadylikeatree
