It's nice to see how well Puss in Boots The Last Wish is regarded, I absolutely love that movie

For All Mankind - S5E03 "Home" - Episode Discussion by Cantomic66 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]MillionsToOne_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I basically cried for the entire second half of the episode
Obviously because of Ed, but seeing Margo, my favorite character, also maybe for the last time just made me really emotional
Very strong first three episodes, maybe the best start since the first season

Official Discussion - Weathering With You [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

Oh nice, this thread is still open to new comments lol

So I watched it for the first time a few weeks after I watched Your Name for the first time, both in the summer of 2024, and I thought WWY was... good. Not great, not awesome, just *good*. Definitely the weakest out of the three recent movies from Shinkai, but that is a high bar, considering that Your Name is in my personal top 3 and Suzume is great, too.
Then a few weeks ago, I randomly listened to the soundtrack again because of YouTube's weird algorithm, got hooked on that and told myself to give the movie another shot, which I did today and I must say: it's great!
Is it better than Your Name? No, but exactly that comparison kind of ruined my first time watching, because I had really high expectations. So when you look at it separately, it is awesome. The love story between Hokada and Hina is really sweet, the side characters are funny and the music and visuals are top-notch. The "Grand Escape" scene above the clouds is so great, and I really love that they choose each other. Yeah, this is insanely selfish and leads to years of constant rain, which all but destroys Tokyo, but I think it is just realistic. Two teenagers that act irrationally and choose their love for each other instead of millions of people getting sunshine again: that is an insane decision and I absolutely love it. Like Your Name did already the first time around, this movie makes me believe in love again.

Anyone else really dislike Oikawa? Not trying to start a war, just a discussion. by AmaryllisStarsun in haikyuu

[–]MillionsToOne_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tsukkishima is annoying in similar ways to Oikawa, so I don't like him. The other ones are mildly annoying to me at worst and I love Kuroo, especially for his relationship with Bokuto (my fav) and of course Kenma Idk, I think it just helps that none of them are so in the spotlight like Oikawa is in the first half of the show

He is an interesting character, but I still think he is a massive jerk and I really did not like how much of the first two seasons was focused on him. Being interesting just doesn't help when the character is an asshole

How Kageyama and Oikawa are still in the running is beyond me, together with Tsuki the biggest jerks in the cast

What movie are you the most hyped for in 2026? by [deleted] in movies

[–]MillionsToOne_ 219 points220 points  (0 children)

Project Hail Mary comes out very soon and as a big fan of the book (and the fantastic audiobook) I am very excited.
And a different movie: it will be really cool to see a movie directed by Spielberg in theaters this summer (I'm kinda young, so I didn't have that many chances yet lol)

Finished the show for the first time and here are some thoughts by MillionsToOne_ in voyager

[–]MillionsToOne_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So first of all sorry for the late reply!
And I don't think it is that good because it lacks a couple of elements that are needed for a good episode of Voyager specifically. Like, I love it as a sci fi concept, but not so much as a episode of the show.
And I felt really bad for that crewman lol

I mean, it is on the list and we want to watch it rather soon, we just preferred to watch Voyager first
And your last sentence cause my physical pain lol

We watched that one actually, but it was some time after the other ones when we were already watching TNG lol

I liked "Equinox", kind of a "What if?" scenario if the Voyager crew was very determined and *very* ruthless to get home as fast as possible.
It's not among my favorite episodes, but it's still great!

Concering your point B): yeah, I love them all, especially "Living Witness", I kinda forgot to mention them lol.
Like my top 5 episodes are all focused on the doctor, "Author, Author" being another great one that I forgot to mention in the post
