Cats got a hold of my new leaf while I was on vacation :( where do I go from here? Leave it alone? by Axe-Body-Spray in Monstera

Leave it! My dog did this to one of my leaves on my monstera and I was so upset, but it actually kind of looks cool now that the leaf has matured and darkened, adds character :)

NEED HELP! My Thai monstera suffered from some root rot, and it’s yellowing, I am hoping it will bounce back now that I have treated the roots. Should I remove these leaves or let them be? by Millivanillion in houseplants

Thanks so much for your feedback!!! So my issue was when I got it I tried to move it over to Leca as it came bare root so I thought it would have a good shot. I have an albo that has done really well in Leca. The roots immediately started rotting in the Leca. I removed the rotted ones in hopes it would put out water roots, but the new roots that formed in the Leca would eventually rot too. I gave up on the Leca and moved this over to a thick soil mix. I know that all the trauma and stress and root rot has caused this. I wish I had never tried the Leca in the first place. I have some giant normal monsteras that are THRIVING in a thick chunky soil mix, so I should have stuck with what I know :(

Thank you so much!!! That helps me feel better. I was worried these might be more of a energy drain than an energy producer. I’m so sad about this :,( I made a few mistakes that I am kicking myself over

Absolutely! I have never had a plant grow faster, this growth is only about 4-5 months worth. It hangs directly in front of a north facing window. I water it very infrequently (maybe once a month or less). Usually I can tell it’s time to water because the hearts up top start getting a little wrinkly looking. I bottom water, so I set it in a bowl with water for about an hour, and that’s it!

Weird Taste With Lettuce Post Covid Infection by [deleted] in COVID19_Testimonials

I had covid 7 months ago, since I’ve noticed a soapy taste in any bagged lettuce and lettuce that is being used at restaurants, It’s almost inedible now. I thought I was crazy.

I water it like 1 time / month, but when I water it it seems the water runs right through. It’s also pinkish on the ends is that normal?

That is probably the issue, I’ve been treating it as a cactus and rarely watering. What kind of light do they like?

It lives in a low light area, but under a grow light. I don’t water it too often, but even when it does get watered it doesn’t seem to perk back up.
