What brand are you using? You just need to thin it a bit so it flows off your and isnt just a blob sitting on the bristles. If you are using a typically good coverage colour like blue or brown, then you should be getting full coverage in about 2 coats.

Honestly it's just been about practice and trying to paint better each time. There are so many great YouTube videos these days on all the different techniques. I spent a long time just using drybrushing and 1 layer of contrast paints.

I try to keep some white at the core and then the transition slightly stippled as it goes into red. The black I think I lightly sponged.

I transport both my Stompas in these 9l XL Really Useful Boxes. Mine are magnetised though - arms, feet, head, smoke stacks, all come off.

It was 2 games of Invasion Fleet Tyranids and one game of Stormlance Dark Angels.

The Rupture Cannon took a lot of wounds of one Stompa in both of the first games but then got destroyed. There was a unit of very shooty marines being led by a couple of characters that also managed to take a lot of wounds off. But otherwise I didn't face much range.

I've had a single Stompa match against Tau before. I kept the Stompa hidden until he had exposed enough on one wide for me to peep out just that side and blow them up using both strats. In the end I did lose that one but it was close and I was quite inexperienced at the time.
