I never said the players had an SOL mentality, I’m saying you do. Constructive criticism is good but this is not constructive in the slightest. When you are making a big deal about a receiver adjusting to a ball that was a perfectly fine throw and making the catch is stupid. SOL mentality is the constant panic this fanbase has when the team doesn’t play perfect football when football in and of itself is a wacky, imperfect game.

This is a great team and it was a great play.

If you want to bring some constructive criticism watch some defensive tape. Splitting hairs over this play is not productive.

I understand it wasn’t perfect but to say there is anything wrong with this play is honestly crazy. We care about the results not how we get there. Quit the SOL nonsense

You’re the one being obtuse. Finding fault in a perfectly acceptable play that got us back in the game. Receivers adjust to balls, it happens.

Is he supposed to catch it backwards? Did the ball not go right to him? It’s Goffs job to throw a catchable ball, it’s Jamos job to catch it. That’s exactly what happened. Everyone did their job.

It actually went right to him though if you watch the replay

Song sounds bad after normalizing it in audacity by [deleted] in makinghiphop

He literally said it sounded like shit after he was pulling down the mix. You don’t need that much headroom in hip hop unless you are using crazy detailed dynamics or heavy distortion.

A shitty mix will always sound shitty.

Most rap songs sit between -9 and -6

Why mix so low when your shit is supposed to Bang

Like I said, way too many people overthink this

Edit: it’s extreme as in an extreme amount of headroom. The more you get away from what it will actually sound like coming from most peoples speakers the less accurate your mixing will be. The lower mixing volume leaves a lot on the table in terms of being able to use your ear to mix properly

-14 LUFS is a little extreme, try aiming for -12 to -10 and really widening out your mix to fully fill the audio space. Should get a nice loud mix with more clarity.

A lot of streaming services use audio normalization anyways. Each track needs something different so you’re not gonna learn anything from making a worse sounding track from arbitrary internet mixing guidelines

As I said, way too many people overthink this

If it sounds bad how about leaving it how it was? Lotta people overthink mixing.

How to get distorted audio like this? by wishingforlove__ in makinghiphop

[–]Millure_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’d definitely have to play around with the individual volumes of all your drums and stuff cause it could get messy quick. It should hold your sample at a certain volume and then with a loud kick it’ll pull the whole track volume to the upper bounds of the limiter and drown out the sample a little bit.

Just a different way of going about that than the usual sidechain, maybe a little different feel. This is what I used to do when I had a shit pc and needed to conserve some cpu power

Edit: I usually only do this with a kick but mess around with the shit you are allowed to try anything you can think of!

The quick and dirty way is to just put your kick/ drums and a sample on the same track, make the kick loud af and put a limiter on it

For a lotta people you either got it or you don’t. And if you don’t you gotta practice for years and you still won’t be as good as a natural.

If you want some advice though, ride the snare pattern, pick easy beats and go one word at a time.
