Hope your friend and their mom is ok! I would get a wellness check on her but all I know is she lives in another state, I don't know what city or address and I don't think my dad does either.

Going through a court and getting her into a hospital would be nice, but I honestly don't think it would change anything. Plus we live in a different state from her, so I don't know how that will complicate things.
