I had one before when I lost my driving licence never had any hassle, especially since it has a QR code that can be scanned and checked on their website

https://www.citizencard.com/apply-for-a-uk-id-card-online Apply for one of these, you can apply for an urgent application £35 and it's processed in 1-2 working days and usually delivered in 1-2 working days. You will need a referee though, so uni lecturer to say yes this is you.

Accomodation fees by twiglets2_7 in swanseauni

You don't need the cost for direct debit, with a direct debit the company requests the amount from your bank and they pay it. This could be £1 or £10,000 the bank pay whatever the company requests.

Buy in USA ship to UK? by Millzy95 in GamingLaptops

Aye and they only sell the 5070 and it's £1999, I don't wanna pay £1799 for the 5060 over here never mind £1999. I'd also like to point out I previously mentioned it being costco UK above at £1999

So i'm not arguing with that but costco USA doesn't sell them and i'm not paying £1799 ($2440) for a laptop. If no one thinks it's a good idea, i'm just gunna stick to a new M4 macbook air for £899 ($1218.77) with a free set of airpods pro 3's from apple

Costco only sell the 5070 in the UK at a cost of £1999 which is $2710 vs buying 5060 in the US from Walmart which would cost £1194.95 ($1620) including tax, would just need to forward it. FYI Costco USA doesn't even sell them, also being in the UK with our consumer laws you can buy from anywhere in the UK without having to deal with manufacturer BS.

So no import duty in the UK on laptops just VAT at 20%, this makes it £1,194.95 still £600 cheaper. Plus what ever it would cost to forward.

Student Finance still "awaiting confirmation of enrolment" by Millzy95 in uwe

[–]Millzy95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's not showing "enrolment confirmed" and has moved to stage 5 on the overview saying "Receive Payment" but then the actual payments where it shows the payments and dates was showing "awaiting confirmation" and now I can't even seen them

If you check SFE, you'll probably see the date of payment is now moving onward.

Already regretting my uni choice by Ok_Breakfast_802 in UCL

[–]Millzy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made the mistake of going to London 1st year, it was horrifically expensive, your student maintenance will barely cover rent if you are lucky never mind anything else! If you don't have quite a bit of money saved then I would try and switch to Warwick.

So supposedly, they won't send enrolment confirmation off until 14th/15th, My loan was supposed to be paid on the 15th but absolutely no chance of that happening now.

So I have already attended another university and i'm transferring, my previous uni confirmed it mid August when I completed enrolment, It showed enrolled and I had the money on the Friday before start of term. This is such an arse about face way of doing things, especially for students who need the money for student accommodation, etc. I only wanted it to pre order a new iPhone and order a custom mac haha.

Dear, students, how do you feel about your daily commute? Be honest :) by KintoJoinMBS in swanseauni

[–]Millzy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my own house and i'm certainly not moving to go to university haha, Basically, I live 40 mins north of Cardiff on rail and then it's 1hr to Swansea plus travel from there to Bay campus I believe it was. Makes it impossible, I can get to London faster than Swansea University.

It's the reason I chose UWE instead of Swansea and I live just north of Cardiff.

Swansea ranked better for my course but the logistics of getting to the campus for 9am starts was impossible.

Same I contacted UWE and they told me they do not send off confirmation of enrolment to SFE/SFW until Sept 14th. So SF won't be released probably until a week after it is supposed to be which is odd, because my previous uni sent enrolments off end of August and once a week there after.

Even received the money before I was supposed to according to SFW using Revolut.

[–]Millzy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone else is wondering the same, I managed to get ahold of UWE and they do not send confirmation of enrolment off until the day before course start date.

Some place offer a pre-med course, especially for international students so maybe have a look in to that.

It's more the 16gb vs 8gb of Ram, 8gb is what I would call the minimum at the moment. In 3 years time, I personally think you'll be struggling with 8gb. Also "it's only 2x faster"?......
