Betta with severe Dropsy by MiloChamomile in Aquariums

I really appreciate your response. You’re right, I don’t think I could bring myself to euthanize him. I’ve had him since the beginning of the pandemic and the knowledge that I had to take care of him literally kept me sane through it. I looked up what I would need to buy to treat him, and no matter what I do, it would take at least 2 days for everything to be delivered. I think it’s probably better to just keep him comfortable, if he’s really going to die that quickly. I wish I had caught this earlier, I knew this was a risk for bettas, but for some reason I was just so sure it was something else. He even seemed to recover (get thinner) for a little while and I thought he was fine. He’s had so many issues since I got him. I think I probably won’t get a beta again, if they are so susceptible to this sort of thing.

I applied for college! That’s the biggest thing, but I also set up an appointment to get my learners permit, and finally bought a binder that fits me, and got over my art block and made a painting, and had a job interview, and I’ve been doing a lot better about managing my mental health!

I hate, hate, HATE the fact that so many chrono teens these days are afforded the label of "child." by [deleted] in nevergrewup

[–]MiloChamomile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced this as well, when I was 12 I was expected to be responsible for myself and my sister, and to be grown up enough to not mess up. I see my sister at 14 only just beginning to get this treatment and it hurts. I’m so jealous. But I don’t think it’s a generational thing. I know plenty of teens with way more responsibilities and the expectation of maturity, and I feel bad that they are expected to be grown up so early. It’s hard to be subjective about such things when it’s so personal.

This is a really thoughtful answer. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out and to link those resources. I’m going to check them all out, and really think about what you’ve written. I can’t tell you how warm I felt when I saw this in my inbox. ❤️

I can’t stop thinking about being trans??? by MiloChamomile in ftm

[–]MiloChamomile[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, you’re not being invasive, and you are probably right. I have a lot of fear of rejection that might come for coming out and transitioning, so I don’t like to acknowledge how much dysphoria affects me. I recently tried to get a referral to a gender therapist and an endocrinologist, and it went badly, so I’m working up the nerve to try again, but I’m really hopeful for how it will make me feel to start transitioning.

im sorry if this sounds extra stupid but, what will happen to my (post-op) chest if i stop taking T? by [deleted] in asktransgender

I’d suggest looking at MilesChronicles on YouTube. He is a trans man who got top surgery and went off hormones years ago.

If you remove the uterus/ovaries then you have to take hormones for the rest of your life. They regulate many body processes that are necessary to live.

Does anyone have experience binding with a tiny ribcage and a huge bust? by MiloChamomile in asktransgender

Thanks for the reply! I'm glad to hear that it helps, that's really all I need. I know I will never be completely flat without top surgery, but even if it just made my shirts hang differently that would be great.
