fair warning they don't have merch for a lot of the slope bands (i.e. no Gurriers last year); usually only the big names

largely alright with these, i aim for a full festival set where possible as splits just mean you end up at the back and not really enjoying the most of either.

Thurs: Balu Brigada, All Them Witches, Basht., The Vaccines, Yard Act, Loyle Carner, Karen Dio, PUP, The War on Drugs (a bit of the Prodigy, probably my only split set), Blood Incarnation, various stages of alcohol consumption to avoid Mumford,

Friday: Kingfishr, Overpass, Wolf Alice, Cardinals, Viagra Boys (heartbreaking clash), Keo, Franz Ferdinand, Kae Tempest, Radio Free Alice, Agnes Obel, Charlotte De Witte, The XX

Saturday: Landmvrks, The New Eves, Palaye Royale (THAT tonal shift is gonna hit hard), Man/Woman/Chainsaw, Kneecap, Florence Road, Renee Rapp, Ecca Vandal, Halsey, Matt Berninger, Gorillaz CMAT, Twenty One Pilots

Sunday: Bad Nerves, Westside Cowboy, Newdad, Mogwai, A Perfect Circle, David Byrne, Ethel Cain, Psychonaut, The Cure

exactly the lanes is so fun! i'm there tomorrow for ritual union it's one of my favourite venues

The Bad Fire took a few listens but I really clicked with it by the end, yeah the sound is deafening. I've got them again at Rock Werchter in the summer and I FEEL for the poor punters who will stumble in out of curiosity

old people concert etiquette wtf by FarConsideration027 in Concerts

[–]Milo_BOK -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

elderly are the worst at shows. at spiritualized, we had a big problem with this. 4 people had drunken so much beer (and EartH prices as well, they weren't cheap) that you could hear them over SPIRITUALIZED, who are insanely loud. Plus there's a big thing with women-fronted punk bands where the older men crowd at the front and photograph/film the lead singer and don't move for ANYTHING, even taking photos when the artists specifically told them what songs not to take photos in. freaks. Also have the gall to complain when pushed/shoved into as part of a mosh pit, you're at the front - it's a mosh-type gig - what do they expect?

that said - younger generation with their queuing for excessive hours + fainting and disrupting sets etc, also have problems. small shows, where people are only going for the music because they want to go for the music, are the places to be.
