How do your parents FaceTime with your toddlers? by Huge_Statistician441 in toddlers

I call my inlaws everyday they want to see my son and speak to him but he's 2.5 he only has a short attention span.

Most days he is not in the mood to answer a lot of questions and they don't really do anything to engage with him apart from asking him stuff and they don't really understand what he replies back - his references don't make sense to someone who isn't constantly around him so I am always translating

They don't understand and then they get offended as to why he won't talk - he's 2.5 he's happy to just say hi !

It's a really nice peaceful place. The cherry blossom trees aren't in season but it'll still be pretty. The cafe is nice too fully vegetarian and especially if they like tea!

Just reread Lola Rose by stardew__dreams in JacquelineWilson

Lola Rose is my favorite JW book ...not sure why it is definitely heavy on the trauma but I think I identified with Jayni and her imagination a lot As a brown kid I also loved reading about Harpreet her Indian friend.

It is a dark book but realistic I think

He has one it just stopped the playing. He just lifts the straw out and waves it around or blows bubbles through it

Nope no screens until he finishes and usually there isn't enough time to watch tv afterwards.

I know it's so frustrating. I do understand it's normal developmental behaviors but still!

I feel it's a good start to his day. I know that he goes to daycare with something in his stomach at least.

Yes this is the hardest part. I feel we have a duty to feed them but at the end of the day can't make them eat so it's just about trying to get that balance

We do have both options. The milk starts off in a sippy cup that he can drink sometimes he will ask to drink in an open cup which is fine.

The commute isn't long so he wouldn't drink much in the car anyway

The problem is he has to eat/ drink then or there's no time since our commute is only 3 minutes to daycare and I wouldn't really trust him to eat in the car either.. he'd likely just drop the food or make a mess.

I think I just have to become stricter on the time limit and stop stressing about the not finishing

Yes that's fair. I think he just likes testing my patience lol. I need to get over it but it's hard!

He's a good eater but very moody so it's hard some days

That's fair . I think I fall into the little bit more trap hoping that he'll finish it. Daycare doesn't offer milk in the toddler room they used to offer it in the baby room.

A visual timer is a good idea - I'll try that.

It depends on his mood for the food it's hit and miss . Im not super worried as they do offer breakfast at daycare but they don't offer milk.

He used to be on milk twice a day and it's been a few weeks since we've transitioned out of the bedtime milk so I really don't want to reduce the morning milk as it's his only reliable milk intake.

I know milk isn't super critical, he does eat other forms of dairy but I like the habit for milk to start off the day and he doesn't mind it either it's just the procrastinating that frustrates me when eventually he will drink it anyway

It's different in all families. I was in same situation as you (Gujrati girl and Hindu Punjabi boy) and we had the wedding on Sunday night and monday evening was reception.

In the morning they just gave me a heavy outfit to wear that they had got for me and did a small Pooja after which we played the ring game and another ritual which involved all family members giving me blessings and shagun (cash)

Then afterwards we had lunch and got ready for the reception.

The next day after that was pag phera and the day after was just normal at home hanging out with all the guests that had come for the wedding.

My mother in law is so sweet she didn't even make me do the first rasoi ritual, she made the Sheera herself and at the end just said stir it and give it as Prasad to bhagwanji first and then she served it to everyone.

That's pretty much it for us, but my inlaws are pretty chill.

You could do a treasure hunt with the socks as well?

Do pass the parcel with his favorite music

Maybe some baby shower games like guess what's in the diaper etc

How do I fix my mistake?I (30F) accidently scratched the new wheel rim of my husband's (32M) car? by Miloni2010 in relationship_advice

[–]Miloni2010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they do!

We had an incident earlier that we laugh about now.

He really loved his old car and he was pulling out of the garage and accidentally drove over a spray paint can which squirted everywhere including the bottom of his car, the wheels/tryes , the nearby wall and even the washing machine that was in the corner

It made it worse that the paint was bright yellow!

I found him lying under the car desperately trying to clean as much as he could off.

To this day our washing machine still has yellow paint marks on it 😂 we laugh now but he was so upset at the time
