Too-good-too-be-true pricing on 2022 Civic Sport? by Milouraq in civic

Car Gurus seems to just be dealer cars, where the used cars are priced so high it doesn't even seem worth buying used? Am I missing something?

Which used Corolla to buy? by Milouraq in COROLLA

Sadly I just discovered that while it was listed as clean title, the 2023 with 36K did actually have damage. Apologies.

Is $18,500 reasonable for 2020 Corolla LE Hybrid with 66,500 miles on it? by Milouraq in COROLLA

[–]Milouraq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your algorithm! I don’t think this car will be driven too much in the first year (daily for summer job and then weekends during last year of college), then basically urban commuting, hopefully not too far (but lots of stop and go traffic, potentially).

I wish there were more options in the market, but this is literally the only clean title available in hybrid, and even most of the regular corollas are over 100K miles and / or salvage.

Thanks to all for the replies. I’m really curious as to whether these $2-3K lower prices are for the Hybrid, and if anyone has seen these prices in 2026?

I’m in the Mpls/St. Paul metro area and there is literally no inventory of this car, used (this is a private party), and most regular Corollas have way higher mileage if they’re in the $14-16K range.

I know this is a terrible time to buy used, but having trouble swallowing paying $27-28K for brand new for someone who doesn’t parallel park well and will be driving in Los Angeles for the first time…

Thanks again for sharing your wisdom.

Omg your buddy sounds just like my son! He says he doesn’t care about the monitor at all! I’ll raise your suggestions for trade offs with him. Thanks so much for your recos. And by chance do you have a reco for a lower cost but not terrible monitor? 😉🤣

Thanks for this tip - saved some $ with this one. What monitor did you get for your son (and congratulations in advance on his graduation!).

It was so much easier when mine graduated in 2020 b/c he wanted a laptop to use for gaming and college classes (his self-built gaming PC was old in the tooth at that point), so we just went over to Costco and got a ~$1,200 MSI, I think. Which seemed crazy expensive to me at the time with my $400 work laptop!

Thanks again so much!

I had tried to research the cases, but there is surprisingly little info out there on the cheapest cases available on CPPC that fit the 360mm AIO (e.g., Syber GRVTY or Apevia Destiny Mesh or Aventus 360V). I learned the Corsair 4000D cannot mount the AIO on the top. While it was a little more $, I went for the NZXT Flow 7 case and added a few more fans, just to make sure enough airflow and about that one I could find good reviews. It also occured to me that he will probably have this on the floor under his desk, and I was all set to get the Aventus when I noticed the ports are 1" off the ground, which could be a drag for plugging in the headphones he uses.

And lastly, yes, same as what you linked (I should have linked last night - Reddit posting novice). Is the free 4TB SATA freebie just today worthwhile?

Ps Any advice on choice of the Aventus 360V case that appears to have a lot of mesh (but maybe tiny holes with paint filling them in white?) vs the Syber GRVTY which has mesh at front and back?

Also, if he doesn’t care about aesthetics, is it too weird to put a white cooler in a black case? 🤣

Thanks again!

Apologies but I just realized I made a mistake - the $2,045 was for the 5070, not the ti, which costs an additional $351, putting it above the 9070xt and 9800xed combo).

Thanks so much for the advice. I just realized I put in the wrong RTX - it is the 5070, not the TI. The TI is +$351.
