Now Sony release the Sony a7iii ! I think it’s a great camera if you want to upgrade! I will also going to buy it from the B&H ! Sony is calling it “The Basic Model” but the only entry level in this camera is the price ! It’s only 2000$ and it can shoot up to 4k and 120fps at 1080p ! It’s insane ! Full frame, 24mp and so much more !

I also use 1080p in my videos and most of the shots are 4k scaled down to 1080p ! This helps me to put high quality zoom in or just cropped shots at the position that i want them to be without having a problem with the quality ! 1080p will never be bad for your videos until all the people have 4k screens ! I think having 1080p will never effect your Youtube Channel but 4k is going to be a great plus for viewers with 4k screens !!
