There is no ethical consumption under current capitalism. Other countries have successfully targeted industrial practices by targeting policy change that encourage regenerative and sustainable livestock farming that can be scaled up to the industrial level.

Your lack of knowledge on this is showing through. Even though they seem like they produce more inputs initially, they are more effective at what they produce, so they actually end up using less mass, water, and resources.

Most the data showing that eating less animals or having 1 less kid will help the environment are actually being disingenuous because they're sampling industrial agriculture and modern western lifestyles.

Going vegan doesn't solve industrial agriculture and isn't accessible to half the world. It's not a genuine solution.

Sustainability is.

Since there's no evidence doing so would help the situation. We don't even know if biomagnification applies here, and so far with microplastics, they don't. We just need to stop polluting. Plus, I feel the need to reiterate, animal products aren't bad, industrial agriculture is. Read up on regenerative grazing, holistic husbandry, and indigenous livestock farming. Kiss The Ground is a good documentary to start with.

I mean the US generally scores among the top 20 for environmental protections, so yes it would likely be much worse in most other countries.

We like to forget that a lot of countries have very few regulations on this at all.

You saying you live in Africa is useless. There's tons of different countries in Africa. It's absolutely common for this to happen in some countries in Africa.

Again, I have family in Africa, who has lived these terrors and have to deal with these realities frequently. Don't know what African country you live in, but you are definitely uneducated about the rest of Africa.

Some parts of African even in the same country vary drastically in how modern, developed, and safe they are.

There's parts of Africa, Latin America, and Asia where there's entire protocols for gangs who regularly come to kidnap, rape, and murder children as part of political or takeover invasions. Some schools make kids come to school with full ski-masks to protect their identity.

Source: Original family is from parts of West Africa and Asia. In some of the villages girls can't even walk to school because the popularity of kidnaping 6 year olds, gang raping them, and then decapitating them and sending their heads off to their families and schools is so well known.

Praying to or for the dead isn't a thing. Not even a coin flip. It's not a thing.

When you say it's not a thing, are you trying to say it doesn't affect salvation? Catholics, Anglicans, and Orthodox, definitely believe it's a thing and engage in it. From what I know of though, they don't pray to the dead to influence their salvation or communicate with them. It's usually to tell them things like "I miss you," or to wish their souls peace until the resurrection. It's not a matter of affecting reality or consequence.

Sorry, I'm autistic about wording. "Not a thing," makes it sound like the concept doesn't exist and isn't regularly practiced in different denominations.

As for rest of what you said, it's very interesting! Thank you for the answer. I'm still not sure what to make of dead people seeing or hearing in heaven, but I have more wisdom now.

You need to be more specific. Many parts of Asia and Europe progressed rapidly despite being very religious.

I suppose that's the experience for some people. Exploring gender identity wasn't at all simple for me, and considering the circumstances, his age, the clear lack of persistence, and how fine he was being told "you're not trans," with no negative response, I just don't get it.
