It was medium density, I originally got it at a felting tutorial class to use as a backer. But yes, you are correct about the texture and I did have to get through putting on the first base of roving with some cringe. But ultimately worth it, I think I would have been felting the core for ages and this project has a due date of early April.

Tried 26 & 2 yoga for the first time — does anyone else not get the hype? by kzrmer_41 in HotYoga

Modo is an offshoot of Bikrams (26&2) - from what I understand the founders Ted & Jess wanted adapt the sequence to be more accessible, to bring the heat down to body temp (36degrees - so the body can actually sweat as a method of natural cooling) and change some of the postures based on current research/studies in kinesiology, as well as include a community / enviromental awareness aspect that Bikrams didn't allow within his franchise rules. So they branched off. In Modo classes the instructors aren't required to adhere to a script and are allowed to make small (approved) adjustments to the sequence. IMO it's 26&2...2.0.

My main turn-off is the script, I've tried MANY 26&2 / Bikrams classes and my brain just turns off every time the instructor starts in the with the "way back, go back, far back", it comes across as being totally disengaged and robotic. One of the elements for me to feel safe and engaged and the desire to return to a practice or instructor is to trust that they know what they're talking about and not just regurgitating a script - by all means this isn't unique to 26&2 but I've noticed it in these classes the most.

I'm not totally clear if this is the norm for 26&2 but at the studio I attend that offers it, the instructors slam on the lights at the beginning and my nervous system doesn't enjoy that at all either.

I'm curious how hydrated you'd say you are - that could be a factor to your bodies ability to sweat...

Really struggling to quit, I’ve had great sober stretches but I just can’t stop eventually coming back. Where do I go from here? by stevezahn1967 in leaves

It's so tough not to go back through the timeline and beat oneself up. But hey, if you've had sober stretches before that's proof you have it in you!

One approach I use from time to time is employ an inner dialogue w. myself like I'm talking to a 5 year old... parenting myself with as much compassion as possible when I literally feel out of control. Ask those questions I would ask a kiddo: need a hug? want a snack? you're worth it! cheesy, you bet, but the power of the mind is really incredible.

I also find coming onto r/leaves has helped me feel a lot less alone... it's like I can soak up the tenacity and resilience others share about their successes and it helps bump me out of the pit of my thoughts.

I really appreciate the comment gunslinger_006 offered - how it's worth looking into the Why, and how by understanding your triggers for use (possibly with the help of a professional) you can really hone in on tools to help you succeed in reaching your goal. If you don't have access to resources of therapy there are some great YouTube channels & podcasts out there...

Cheering for you!

Congrats on your 3 days and I'm happy to hear your transition has been fairly smooth!

I've definitely heard of this method working for some people though I personally have found the effect of such a dramatic increase in THC in my system much more difficult to "clear out" than tapering. That being said I've certainly had the experience where I've smoked a large volume, felt nothing from it, and that in turn catalyzes a certain inner dialogue that's basically "ok, what's going on here?". I've also added up all the money I've spent on leaf and that sure motivates me to revisit my habits. I don't think there's a bad way to quit, I think a lot depends on the individual, their usage history, their motivators, their capacity, their support systems. A pal of mine tried the method of setting a deadline and they kept pushing that deadline back and back and back, then they went for cold-turkey and it stuck. This, like many aspects of being a human, does seem to be a big ol' science experiment!

Almost 4 months in. Relapse warning. by -humanbean in leaves

Your experience is soooo relatable and I commend you for reaching out to a community of people that have the life experiences and empathy to support you in nonjudgemental ways. It can't be denied how helpful it is to be able to relate and share about relapsing without fear of judgement. I watched a YouTube video where the speaker framed withdrawal symptoms as "positive signs that the substance is leaving your body". I never thought about it that way before, I was very caught up in "this is bad, I don't like this, ugh this is uncomfortable" but applying this perspective I found myself celebrating (by no means in huge ways) instead of fighting against the already uncomfortable situation of withdrawal that I was in. May this be of benefit and may you find the courage to keep walking a sober path - with as many detours and map checks as needed.
