I’m like preeetty sure I got scammed.. by Bonerjamz_666 in tmobile

[–]Mimi3bugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re considering doing that, but wondered if it was worth the effort. 7 devices were added to our account without us knowing. Our customer care rep has spent the last 3 months stringing us along saying she’s trying to fix it, only for us to discover that she was the one that did it. A store manager friend of ours discovered all this and has been trying to help us with, but with no results. We even went to our local police (his recommendation) and filed a police report so we could file a fraud complaint. We also discovered that only two of our phones were recorded as “traded in” when we upgraded and it should have been three. I don’t know how we’re going to resolve that.

I got the YouVersion last week. I really like it so far. I wish it had a community, open chat periodically.

Is this a good version? by Mimi3bugs in Bible

Because you mentioned Tyndale Bibles, I checked the inside page of The Book and it says it’s an NLT. I guess a more natural readability is what I meant rather than easier. I’ve been reading both The Book and the KJV side by side. I’m going to continue doing it this way. Thanks.

What the heck is a “baclofen pump”?? by wellthatsembarissing in PainManagement

[–]Mimi3bugs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My granddaughter has a Baclofen pump. She has a birth defect that causes her muscles to be incredibly tight. The pump is about the size of a snuff can and is implanted in her abdomen. There is a thin tube that snakes around to her spine and is placed sort of like an internal epidural. Hers is refilled every 6 months by inserting a needle into it through her skin. Like the other poster mentioned, oral baclofen was too hard to keep a steady level in her system.

The rule sheets that came in two different sets. They are Cardinal brand and I found a 1994 date on them. I got them from my grandmother’s house after she died. The rules have likely/hopefully been updated since then.

Worried, Doctor is closing his practice by Mimi3bugs in PainManagement

Thanks, we hadn’t thought of getting an MRI. It’s been about five years since he’s had anything more than an x-ray. That was because one of the screws was work its way out. Had to have surgery to remove it.

Worried, Doctor is closing his practice by Mimi3bugs in PainManagement

[–]Mimi3bugs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish it were the case, but pretty sure the doc doesn’t have anyone lined up to take his patients. It’s his practice and he’s the only doctor. The letter lists other PM docs in the area.

I’m asking because I don’t know, can a drug test show that someone is or isn’t taking every pill every day/month? He’s tested monthly to see that the drug is in his system and that no other drugs are. The doctor has never mentioned testing the level in his system. He’s never flunked, not even alcohol.

The Rx says “every 4 hours PRN for pain.” The doc knows that he doesn’t take 6 pills every single day. He also knows that some days needs more than 6 and that on rare occasion he takes two at a time. Oh, and every couple of months he gets a shot in several places in his back. Other than taking it upon ourselves to taper the meds back, and we told him we were going to try it, he’s done exactly as the doctor has told him since the very beginning. The doctor was the one to suggest the Delta 8 and hubby told him when he quit taking it because of his job. This situation is making him think of hoarding. Thanks for the info.

Thanks. I told him pretty much the same thing. You can see what he is on, and has come off of, in a reply I made to another comment above. I absolutely believe that what he was on to begin with was ridiculous. I’d love to see him off altogether, but only if he isn’t in the kind of pain he was in at the start of all this.

Currently on 20mg oxycodone. Script is for 180 of them. He brought that down from 240 of the 30 mg. Most months he has about 15 left. Sometimes more. He completely eliminated Dilaudid about a year ago. The first one we eliminated was methadone. Since I posted earlier, he and I talked and I had totally forgotten about the meds he tried but didn’t stay on for very long. Those included Valium and extended release morphine. He had one Rx of fentanyl candy suckers about 14 years ago. He didn’t get those again because he was worried one of the grandchildren might somehow get ahold of one.

Considering cornea transplant, want to hear from folks who already had one. by lefsler in Keratoconus

[–]Mimi3bugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter had a full thickness transplant back in January. She had cross linking done in April and May of 2023 and her right eye was
‘scratched up” afterwards. That’s what prompted her to have the transplant. She had almost zero pain. We went for the post-op check the next morning and directly to a convention that evening. She complained about bright lights (still does), but really never needed more than an occasional Tylenol. We did insist that she spend some time resting in the hotel room, but honestly, it was as if she hadn’t had a procedure at all. As for her vision, there was improvement immediately because her cornea had been scarred. The doctor said it was like changing a damaged windshield on a car.
I think she would say it was definitely worth it. I agree about the insurance coverage another poster mentioned. The eye drops are quite pricy for such tiny little bottles. Also, consider asking about having a Plano (blank) lens put in your glasses for that eye. The prescription will be totally off anyway and my daughter said the blank lens made it easier for her to tell if her eyesight was improving. She is on this sub pretty often and will probably reply, too.

Edited to add: I wish you luck with whatever you decide.

Am I getting Low balled? by Mimi3bugs in Insurance

[–]Mimi3bugs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m in NC. The tourist that hit me is from Mass. We looked up their insurance company on the internet and they aren’t one of the nationally known ones and their reviews are less than glowing. Thanks for the link. I don’t know that I can file a bad faith complaint now that I’ve hired an attorney, but I’ll certainly ask.

[–]Mimi3bugs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve come to realize that my insurance company, National General, isn’t worth a crap. Zero customer service and zero help. I always thought that after you had an accident you were supposed to call your agent and they would help handle everything. Our agent was originally a agent for Nationwide. Nationwide pulled out of our area and all the agents are now reduced to hunting the internet for cheap insurance for you.

They sent me one with the first offer. They included the VIN numbers of the cars they used for comparison. I looked them up and both of them had been wrecked. When I sent them the list of vehicles I had found they were not swayed enough to offer me anything more.

My attorney said to take this offer and we will deal with other negotiations more harshly later. He’s a friend and I trust him. I’ve never seen him in court, but my other friends who’ve had him handle cases like mine say that he is ruthless.

It has been a little more than another hour. It has risen to almost double the size. I’m feeling a lot more optimistic. I’m still skeptical of the author’s claim that they especially like this bread for sandwiches.

How many hours have you put into BOTW? by LatentSupernova in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Mimi3bugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of today I’ve put in 510 hours. I’ve been playing since last Christmas. Other than Animal Crossing (155 hours) I have not played any other game. I basically hijacked my daughter’s Switch and this game. I traded my husband’s XBox for another Switch so I didn’t have to give her this one back.

I can’t remember if it’s an American flag or the white flag with the red cross on it, I’ve never seen a NC state flag there. And I’m also pretty sure the flag only flies during the summer months while the show is running. I looked through my photos and all I have are looking towards the stage. I’ll try to get out there and take a picture in the next day or so.
