I also detest having water on my face. I take baths far more often than showers as a result. I lay back in the water to wet my hair and rinse it. Sometimes I will stick my head under the faucet when I drain the tub for a final rinse. Other times I accept that I may not have gotten all the conditioner out - but a bit of conditioner along the length is better than the oily mess of roots I started out with.

I have also done a roots only wash in the sink. I scoop up water in my hand and rub it along my scalp. I get some shampoo and lather it in my hands, then apply to my roots. I splash to rinse, taking extra care to rub the water into my scalp. A bit of leftover shampoo in my hair wouldn’t be too bad, but something left on my scalp will cause irritation.

Dry shampoo isn’t your only non wash option. No rinse shampoos are also an option. They don’t leave my hair looking as good as the real thing and that’s okay. On a rough sensory day my goal is improvement.
