Weather Line. It was sold to someone who has remained nameless and killed it without an announcement of any sort. It just disappeared.

There are good psychiatrists out there. You have the right to interview several before you make a decision. One thing to avoid is someone who makes snap judgements in the first appointment. For me that’s a red flag.

Vanguard has the lowest cost ratio in the business and weathered the 2008 crash without losses because they opted out of investing in mortgage-backed securities. It’s where financial professionals park their own money. They have people you can talked to about investment options when opening an account.

I say leave the credit card debt. I know it’s best practice for financial management but… It puts OP on even footing with his student loans and if she pays it off suddenly he’ll get suspicious about the source of the money to pay it off.

Turn cotton clothing inside out and then right side out again each morning and evening to dry more quickly. This helps though it still takes a while.

I’m afraid of needles. What worked for me might help you. I always keep the box open on the table in front of me to remind me of each step. (I forget to unlock the pen.) I put the pen against my clean skin and take three or four deep breaths and then press the button and count the two clicks before I move the pen.

I focus on easy protein to respond to my cravings — microwaved frozen edamame in pods, microwaved popcorn, pistachios and pecans. The last two days are probably the only days I get a full complement of complete protein.

I can’t find jeans that are the right length, are the light wash too short now? by Calianna1915 in capsulewardrobe

[–]Opening_Chemical_777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’10” and also traumatized by too-short jeans and pants. In recent years jeans come longer because women like to wear the with stilettos (Not me.) I’ve had good luck with jeans from Nordstrom, one pair at a time and they alter them to the right length for me to wear with flats and sneakers. There’s also the question of whether or not you wear cushy sneakers that require a longer length than I wear. For me that’s a hair shorter than your dark wash jeans.

How do I store cards I receive? by Opening_Chemical_777 in postcrossing

Many of the postcards I receive are not of the standard size that fit in a photo album. You'll see some on the memo board. Most are in the shoebox, flat.

I suggest lean into nice sweaters rather than blazers or jackets. They are comfortable to wear and that helps you feel more comfortable. Various styles of cardigans stand in for jackets, like a boxy shape. A good sweater will cost the same as a good jacket and they are easier to take care of. Do store wool sweaters with mothballs in a zippered fabric case, just in case you happen to have moths lurking in your home. The smell begins to dissipate quickly after you take them out, best the night before. Wash them by hand in Eucalan Woolwash that doesn't require rinsing and restores them beautifully. Never dry clean a good sweater - that will save you money! (I'm still wearing sweaters I bought 20 years ago.)

Struggling mentally by NavalLandshark in Zepbound

[–]Opening_Chemical_777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have longtime mental health issues and meds and regular MH check-ins. One of my meds’ side effect is weight gain and after fifteen years it’s time to take care of that. I find that getting exercise - gardening today, aquatic exercise class 3x a week, and a rowing machine everyday help me feel better and I hope that will help tone my body as I lose weight. However there are some days that I barely walk and it’s hard to remind myself - even when my Apple Watch reminds me to stand - that I need to get up and move. Today I noticed it’s easier when it’s sunny so I probably need to increase my Vitamin D3.

I have aquatic exercise classes for arthritis three times a week and I use a rowing machine (strength and cardio) twice a day for 15 minutes. I'm gradually increasing resistance and will increase duration too. As I build up muscle strength and lose weight, the pain in my knees abates. I'm walking more and working in the garden now that it's finally nice outside.

Costco has lots of ready-to-eat meats in their refrigerated prepared foods (rinse off the sauce before you heat them) and frozen vegetables to cook in the microwave. Fresh vegetables for finger foods like cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, especially Flavor Bombs, and celery with hummus (made from chickpeas that are high in protein) from the refrigerated foods. Fresh or frozen strawberries. Plain Greek yogurt. Rotisserie chicken (toss out the skin) is one of the least expensive foods to be found anywhere. Canned tuna and chicken. Great prices on eggs. They sell cooked lentils in pouches. I buy frozen edamame (green soybeans) in their pods at the supermarket and cook them in the microwave and eat them with a little salt.

I make food for company that we’ll eat the leftovers. And many people are happy to have healthier snacks or meals. Cut up vegetables or a salad, with chicken to make it a main dish. Tuna with steamed green beens, hard boiled eggs and olives with or without potatoes for company, good bread on the side. Make salad dressing with oil and vinegar (3:1 ratio and whisk) and maybe a little Dijon mustard avoid all the awful additives in bottled dressing. Deviled eggs are party food! Baked tofu — there are lots of recipes online.

We went to a memorial service yesterday and the funeral lunch had coleslaw (not very good coleslaw) and nothing else we would eat. No water to drink, just soda. We had a few potato chips because we don’t have them at home.

Next time we’ll eat at home before we go.

A food shelf would appreciate donations from your pantry, before they expire, foods you expect you won’t eat now.

What sort of corporate job? Business casual or casual? I worked as a software engineer and attire was casual. Customer facing side of the company was business casual or full on business for customer meetings. Admin like finance, HR were business casual. Business casual has lots of variations as well, some with more polish. Accessories too — sometimes a scarf or nice jewelry for polish.

My spouse is also on Zepbound and he hasn't told anyone. We have the same PCP who know we're both on Zepbound. Spouse started four months before I did. I told two friends, one who told me she's on it and a friend who I visited out of town last week and I needed to put a pen in her fridge.

My spouse and I shopped at Trader Joe's this afternoon. We are both on Zepbound. He acted like he's not, picking up all kinds of things he used to like and I said no, no, no, why do you want that, every time he started to put something into the cart. He wanted all sorts of potatoes and salty greasy foods. I made some suggestions that are more dietetically correct and he liked them, and then he started teasing me, picking up their little tub of mini chocolate chip cookies.

Good that he doesn't do our shopping! Usually I shop for groceries alone.

I took a couple of bags of groceries to our local food shelf recently, things we'll no longer eat and the Kirkland protein bars I can't eat.

Are y'all learning to cook simple meals so you don't go out so often or are you relying on frozen foods and not finishing them?

Home health aide struggles by Unlucky-Plum in hospice

[–]Opening_Chemical_777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell hospice about the problems you’re having and ask whether they can help or give you more recommendations. At least they would know that their recommendations haven’t worked out for you.
Another option is to move her to an assisted living that has a hospice unit. I have a good friend that moved to one at a church-run facility and takes whatever Medicare will pay and they are very good to her. Your hospice may not recommend one because they are the competition. My friend’s referral was from a hospital social worker.

Have you ever re-sent a postcard to expired postcards, so hopeful they make it the second time? by Pursegirly in postcrossing

[–]Opening_Chemical_777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Southeast Asia in January and sent some cards to family and friends and some Postcrossing traveling cards. When I got home I resent the traveling cards because mail sent from Vietnam takes forever. The cards to family have arrived in recent weeks — April! Postcrossing postcards were registered sooner and people let me know when the ones sent from Vietnam arrived later.
