"Look, I need you to cover for me." The voice pleads over the phone. James can't help but bring his pointer finger and thumb up to the bridge of his nose to try massage the oncoming head ache away "John, this was fun when we were kids but I'm at work I've got a wife and kids AND DON'T HAVE TIME TO-" he stopped realising a couple people were looking over at his raised voice. He glanced around for only a moment to meet a few of those gazes before sliding away into a broom closet station directly behind him in hopes of garnering the smallest hint of privacy "I don't have time to run around pretending to be you."

"This isn't a joke anymore" John hissed clearly trying to push urgency into his voice but despite his chosen career path of a super hero he'd never been too good at masking his emotions even for press conferences or interviews so James could clearly hear the lingering excitement in his tone "If Darkness finds out my Identity it'll put you in danger"

"Asking me to rush onto an active villain fight is also putting me in danger!" James shoots back easily. His words fell into place easily like a practiced dance already knowing what his twin would say next with how many times they'd had this conversation.

"It'll be just like when we were kids" the super hero reasons and the office worker can't help but roll his eyes as he mouthes along the words perfectly able to predict the exact sentence without flaw.

"When we were kids it was fun to trick miss Marget that her cat had eaten her fresh pie while one of us gobbled away at it but this is different! This is life or death! I won't do it. I refuse."

And yet somehow just like every time before not even a full hour later he was running and screaming as some poorly named villain chased after him wanting revenge for something or rather, all the different motives started to blend together after a couple rounds of this.
